Prayers.

ARnold Bouchery, John Vanhattenn, and George Woulfe, did this Day take the Oaths of Allegiance and Supremacy, in order to their Naturalization.

Lindsey Level.

Ordered, That Power be given for sending for Persons, Papers, and Records, in the Cause concerning Lindsey Level.

Rodes' Decree, &c.

An ingrossed Bill, sent from the Lords, intituled, An Act for Confirmation of a Decree made in the Court of Chancery, the Four-and-twentieth Day of February, Anno Regni Regis Caroli Secundi vicesimo septimo, in a Cause between Sir Francis Rodes Baronet, since deceased, and Dame Martha his Wife, Plaintiffs; William Thornton an Infant, by Cyprian Thornton his Guardian, and John Thornton, and the said Cyprian Thornton, Defendants; and of several Conveyances and Assurances made by the said Sir Francis Rodes in pursuance thereof, as well for Payment of his Debts, as for Provision for his Wife and Children; was read the Third Time.

Resolved, &c. That the Bill do pass: And that the Title be agreed.

Samine's Estate.

Ordered, That Sir John Hanmer and Mr. Wright be added to the Committee to whom the Bill of Samine and Couper is committed.

Poll Tax.

A Bill for raising Money by a Poll was read the Second time.

Resolved, &c. That the Bill be committed to a Committee of the whole House.

Resolved, &c. That an Instruction be given to the said Committee, That no Wine, Brandy, Salt, Linen, Silk, Paper, and no other Commodities of the Growth, Product, or Manufacture of France, or any of the Dominions or Territories of the French King, shall be imported for Three Years; and that wheresoever they shall be found, they shall be burnt and destroyed; and that on the Persons, in whose Hands they are found, there be inflicted Penalties equal to the Value of the Commodities that shall be found in their Hands.

Resolved, &c. That it be referred to the Committee, to consider of an appropriating Clause.

Resolved, &c. That the Committee do consider, Whether French Wine and Brandy shall be taxed.

Resolved, &c. That the Committee do consider of a Time to be limited, after which the French Commodities shall be destroyed.

Restoring Lord Audley, &c.

A Message from the Lords, by Sir Timothy Baldwin and Sir Andrew Hacket;

Mr. Speaker, The Lords have sent you down a Bill, intituled, An Act for restoring the Honour of Baron Audley of Hely to James Lord Audley and others herein mentioned; and also for restoring them in Blood: To which they desire the Concurrence of this House.

Poll Tax.

The House then resolved itself into a Committee of the whole House, to take into Consideration the Bill for raising Money by a Poll.

Mr. Speaker left the Chair.

Sir Edw. Deering took the Chair of the Committee.

Mr. Speaker resumed the Chair.

Sir Edw. Deering reports from the said Committee, That the Committee had taken the same into their Consideration; and had made some Progress therein.

And humbly moved from the said Committee, That the House would be pleased to appoint a Committee to draw up a Clause to be added to the Bill, That no Wine, Brandy, Salt, Linen, Silk, Paper, and no other Commodities of the Growth, Product or Manufacture of France, or any of the Dominions or Territories of the French King, shall be imported for Three Years; and that wheresoever they shall be found, they shall be burnt and destroyed; and that on the Persons in whose Hands they are found, there be inflicted Penalties, equal to the Value of the Commodities that shall be found in their Hands: And also, of an appropriating Clause.

And further moved, That the Committee may have Leave to sit again To-morrow Morning.

And it is referred to Mr. Solicitor General, Sir Tho. Meeres, Colonel Birch, Mr. Powle, Mr. Spry, Mr. Buscawen, Sir Geo. Downing, Sir Cha. Harbord, Sir Edw. Deering, Mr. Sachaverell, Mr. Love, or any Three of them, to prepare and bring in the said Clause.

Resolved, &c. That this House will, To-morrow Morning at Ten of the Clock, resolve itself into a Committee of the whole House, to proceed further in the Consideration of the Bill for raising of Money by a Poll.

And then the House adjourned till To-morrow Morning, Eight of the Clock.
