Prayers.
Members take Oaths.
THE House, being met, proceeded further in the Taking of the Oaths of Allegiance and Supremacy; and making and subscribing the Declaration directed by the Act made in the Thirtieth Year of his now Majesty's Reign, intituled, An Act for the more effectual preserving the King's Person and Government, by disabling Papists from sitting in either House of Parliament.
And such Members as were present, having taken the said Oath; and made and subscribed the said Declaration;
Burying in Woolen.
An additional Bill concerning Persons buried in Woollen, was read the First time.
Resolved, &c. That the said Bill be read a Second time.
Double Returns.
Ordered, That, where there are any Double Returns of Members to serve in this present Parliament, such Members do forbear to sit, until the said Returns be decided.
Grand Committees.

Atkins, Lord Annesley, Sir John Bowyer, Sir Edward Deering, Sir Henry Calverly, Sir John Burlace, Mr. Vaughan, Colonel Titus, Mr. Henry Trenchard, Mr. Browne, Sir William Langham, Mr. Thomas Lewis, Lord Clifford, Sir Humphry Winch: And all that come, are to have Voices: And they are to meet this Afternoon at Two of the Clock, in the Speaker's Chamber; and every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, at the Time and Place before-mentioned: And to take into their Consideration all such Matters as shall or may come in Question, touching Returns, Elections, and Privileges; and to proceed upon Double Returns, in the first Place; and to report their Proceedings, with their Opinions therein, to the House, from time to time: And all Persons that will question Returns, are to do it in Fourteen Days next; and so in Fourteen Days after any new Return shall be brought in: And the said Committee is to have Power to send for Witnesses, Persons, Papers, and Records, for their Information: And all Members who are returned for Two or more Places, to make their Elections by this Day Three Weeks, for which of the Places they will serve; provided there be no Question upon the Return for that Place: And if any thing shall come in Question touching the Return, Election, or Matter of Privilege, of any Member of this Committee, such Member is to withdraw during the Time the Matter is in Debate.

Message from Lords- Popish Plot.
A Message from the Lords, by the Lord Chief Justice Scroggs and the Lord Chief Justice North;
Mr. Speaker, the Lords have commanded us to acquaint you, That they have made an Address to his Majesty, and have received his Majesty's Answer thereto; which they have thought fit to communicate to this House.
And the said Address and Answer being delivered in at the Clerk's Table;
And the Messengers being withdrawn;
The said Address and Answer were read to the House, and are as followeth; viz.
"Die Sabbati, 23 Octobris, 1680."
Ordered, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal, in Parliament assembled, That the Lords with white Staves do attend his Majesty, humbly to desire him, from this House, That, whereas there hath been a Discovery of an horrid Plot and Conspiracy, by the Papists, against his Majesty's Person and Government, which still continues, his Majesty will be graciously pleased to issue out his Royal Proclamation; thereby declaring, That if any Person or Persons shall, within the Space of Two Months after the Date of such Proclamation, come in, and give Evidence of any Treason or Conspiracy against his Majesty's Royal Person and Government; that then his Majesty will graciously pardon such Person or Persons all Treasons, and Misprision of Treasons, and all Offences in Concealment of the same, to the Time limited by the said Proclamation. Jo. Browne, Cleric. Parliamentor."
"His Majesty hath considered of the Address made by the House, and is so willing to encourage all Persons who know any thing of any Treasons and Conspiracies against his Person and Government, that he will cause his Royal Proclamation to issue, declaring, That he will fully pardon and secure all Persons who shall make such Discovery, not only during the Space of Two Months, as is desired, but at any time after, whensoever such Discovery shall be made."
