Reading Writ.
ORDERED, That Mr. Speaker do issue his Warrant to the Clerk of the Crown, to make out a new Writ for the Election of a Burgess to serve in this present Parliament for the Borough of Reading in the County of Berks, in the room of John Breedon Esquire, deceased.
The King's Speech considered.
Then the Order made on Monday last for taking into Consideration his Majesty's gracious Speech, as this Day, being read:
Resolved, That this House do immediately resolve into a Committee of the whole House, to take into Consideration his Majesty's gracious Speech.
Mr. Speaker left the Chair.
Mr. Solicitor General took the Chair of the Committee.
Mr. Speaker resumed the Chair.
Mr. Solicitor General reports from the Committee of the whole House, That the Committee, having taken the Matter to them referred into Consideration, had agreed upon Two Resolves: Which he read in his Place; and afterwards delivered the same in at the Clerk's Table: Where the same being again read, are as followeth; viz:
Supply.
Resolved, Nemine contradicente, That it is the Opinion of the Committee, That a Supply be given to his Majesty.
Militia.
Resolved, Nemine contradicente, That it is the Opinion of the Committee, That the House be moved to give Leave to bring in a Bill to render the Militia more useful.
The First of the said Resolves being read a Second time;
Resolved, Nemine contradicente, That this House doth agree with the Committee, That a Supply be given to his Majesty.
The Second of the said Resolves being read a Second time;
Resolved, Nemine contradicente, That this House doth agree with the Committee, That Leave be given to bring in a Bill to render the Militia more useful.
Supply.
Resolved, That this House will, To-morrow Morning at Ten of the Clock, resolve itself into a Committee of the whole House, to proceed further in the said Supply, and the Consideration of his Majesty's gracious Speech.
And then the House adjourned till To-morrow Morning, Ten of the Clock.
