APPENDIX 2

HOLDERS OF AN UNIDENTIFIABLE HEREFORD PREBEND

The prebend below cannot be any of the following: Cublington, Ewithington, Hampton, Huntington, Inkberrow, Moreton and Whaddon, Moreton Magna, Moreton Parva, Preston, Putson Minor or Wellington, which can be shown to have been held by other cans. during the relevant period; it could be any of the others, though it is unlikely to be Bartonsham, Church Withington, Colwall, or Gorewell and Overbury. Pratum Minus, Putson Major and Withington Parva are quite strong possibilities.

Edmund de Mortimer

Had res. from an unnamed preb. 8 July 1276 in order to be coll. to preb. previously held by M. Peter of Radnor (identifiable as Huntington (list 20): Reg. Cantilupe pp. 83-4). Edmund was succeeded in the preb. he had held up to July 1276 by M. Richard of Stratford.

M. Richard of Stratford

Coll. to the preb. previously held by Edmund de Mortimer 8 July 1276 (Reg. Cantilupe pp. 83-4); mand. to induct him into this preb. 14 Oct. 1276 (Reg. Cantilupe p. 102). Had res. it by 21 Dec. 1277 when Cantilupe coll. M. Richard de Swinfield to the preb. previously held by M. Richard of Stratford (Reg. Cantilupe p. 155). M. Richard of Stratford appears to have res. this unidentified preb. for Putson Minor (list 32).

M. Richard de Swinfield

Coll. to the preb. previously held by M. Richard of Stratford 21 Dec. 1277 (Reg. Cantilupe p. 155). Coll. to preb. of Hampton 4 May 1279 (ibid. pp. 210-11; list 17).
