Footnotes

  • 1. Lavenham had res. the precentorship by 22 Sept. 1427, and appears to have obtained it about seven years earlier because it is stated that he 'had lately received papal dispensation to hold with the ch. of Biddenham, Beds., one other benefice, for seven years. After which he obtained the precentorship of Llandaff. . . and on resigning it the parish ch. of St Mary Binbrook, Lines.' (CPL. VII 499).
