Yonge had been chancellor to Owain Glyn Dwr and was one of his most loyal supporters. He was still working on behalf of Glyn Dwr in France in 1415 and therefore the reason for his never regaining possession of the bpc. of Bangor is obvious (Williams pp. 220, 225).
