	Writ 12 May, inq. 17 May, 5 Hen. VII.
	One William Brown, late her husband, gave the under-mentioned manors of Swafeld and Wythom, and tenements in Wilsthorpe, Barghome, and Stamford, to Thomas Stokes, clk., Henry Wikes, Thomas Highkam, and others, who are now seised thereof in fee. Henry Wikes, chaplain, gave the manor of Swynestede and the other under-mentioned lands to the said William and Margaret (as in No. 476). Death and heir as in No. 525.
LINC.	Manor of Swafeld, worth 10l., held of the Lord de Grey, as of the manor of Castell Bytham, by fealty and 50s. 4d. rent yearly. 	John Lewkenore, and others, gave the under-mentioned manors of Ponynges, &c., to Thomas Urswyk, knt., and others (as in No. 548). John Goryng released his right in the premises, by deed dated 28 June, 17 Edw. IV, to the said Urswyk and others his joint feoffees. By deed dated 3 June, 15 Edw. IV, the said Earl gave the under-mentioned manors of Petteworth, &c., to Stephen Copyndale, now deceased, and William Ruckshaw, clk., and William Rilston, who survive. Death and heir as in No. 548.
SUSSEX.	Manors, or lordships, of Ponynges, Hangleton, Wyksande, Michell Perchyng, Litill Perchyng, Pyngeden, or Pengeden, Preston Ponynges, Waldern, Heryngawes, or Heryngawaez, and Asshecombe. 	Thomas Thwaytes, knt., John Verney, knt., Ralph Verney, John Mathewe, Henry Danvers, Christopher Hawe, Thomas Cheyne, Thomas Mey, John Cornysshe, of Winchester, Roger Plocher, John Pulter, Nicholas Matok, John Hawe, John Lane, William Redehede, and John Clerk, gave the under-mentioned lands in Agmondesham, with the exception of the lands and tenements part thereof which John Bartlot lately held, to the said Philip, and Margaret his wife, who survives, for the term of their lives, with remainder to John Agmondesham in tail. John Norbery, knt., Ralph Agmondesham, mercer, Robert Plocher, Thomas Restwold, and Thomas Edmond, gave the under-mentioned manor and lands in Wobourn to the said Philip for life, with remainder to the said John Agmondesham, and Emma now his wife, by the name of Emma Champeneys, daughter of Thomas Champeneys, and the heirs of the said John begotten on the said Emma. He died 8 May, 5 Hen. VII. The said John Agmondesham, aged 30 and more, is his son and heir.

	One Thomas Holdyche, esq., being seised of the under-mentioned manor in fee, gave it to Richard Holdyche his son, and the said Joan his wife, to hold to them and the heirs of their bodies. She survived the said Richard her husband, and died at Dudlyngton, co. Norf., 3 Feb. last, seised of the said manor in fee tail. Robert Holdyche, aged 4 and more, is her cousin, and heir of the bodies of the said Richard and Joan, viz. son of John their son.

	At the time of his decease and long before John, Archbishop of Canterbury, and others, were seised of the under-mentioned manor, &c., to his use. By his last will he directed that Julian his wife should have and enjoy the premises for the term of her life, without impeachment of waste, with remainder to his right heirs. He died 4 June, 5 Hen. VII. John Darell, aged 12, is his son and heir.

	He died 4 April last, seised of the under-mentioned manors and lands in fee. Robert Ramys, aged 7 and more, is his son and heir.
N’TH’L’D.	Manor of Bolom, 100a. arable, 200a. moor, and 6a. meadow there, held of the King in chief, worth 40s. yearly and no more by reason of the havoc wrought by the Scots. Manor of Schortflate, held of the King in chief, worth 26s. 8d. only for the like cause. Certain lands and tenements in Haden, with a certain ancient manor lying waste there, worth 60s. and no more because charged with the payment of 40s. yearly to one John Ramys, as appears by a writing of John Ramys father of the said Robert. Certain lands and tenements in Lyghton, Cambo, Hawyk, and Rothle, tenure unknown, which are valueless for the cause abovesaid. A tenement with certain lands in Newton, held of Ralph, Earl of Westmoreland, as of the barony of Bolebece, service unknown.

566	HENRY, EARL OF NORTHUMBERLAND.

	By deed dated 6 June, 14 Edw. IV, he gave the under-mentioned capital messuage in St. Anne’s parish, with the 12 adjoining tenements, and a messuage with tenements adjacent in Algate, to Stephen Copindale, now deceased, and William Roukshawe, clk., and William Rilston, who survive. He died seised of the other under-mentioned hostels and tenements in fee. Death and heir as in No. 553. George Luskyn of London, ‘Taillour,’ and John Welles, esq., of the King’s Household, have taken the issues and profits of the said hostels and tenements in St. Martyn’s Lane, from the time of his death to the present, by what right, or title, is unknown to the jury.
LONDON.	Two hostels in St. Martyn’s Lane, in the parish of St. Anne’s within Aldrishgate, late in the tenure of the Lord de Gray, worth when let 13l. 6s. 8d. a year; also six tenements adjoining the said hostels, viz. ‘le Fox’ worth 60s., ‘le Lyon’ worth 60s., ‘le Crowne’ worth 53s. 4d., ‘le Angell’ worth 53s. 4d., ‘le Rose’ worth 40s., and ‘le Goldsmythis’ worth 40s. yearly when let, held of the Dean and Chapter of the College of St. Martin le Grand, London, service unknown. A capital messuage in the parish of St. Anne’s within Aldrishgate, and 12 tenements thereto adjoining. A messuage with tenements adjacent to it in Algate Street.

567	RICHARD GARDYNER.
	Writ 19 Dec., inq. 7 July, the feast of St. Thomas the Martyr, 5 Hen. VII.
	He was seised, jointly with William Heigham, clk., of the under-mentioned manor, to the use of himself and his last will. By his last will he gave it to Etheldred his wife for the term of her life, with remainder to Mary their daughter in tail, with remainder to Joan Barton, daughter of the said Etheldred, in tail, with remainder to John Barton, brother of Joan, in tail, with remainder to Katharine Barton, the other of the daughters of the said Etheldred, in tail, with remainder to his own right heirs. He was similarly seised, jointly with William Fyndern, knt., Thomas Cotton, esq., John Tate, Alderman of London, and Clement Higham, and Richard Higham, gentlemen, of the under-mentioned lands in Horseth and Shydy Camps. By his last will he gave them to the said Etheldred for life with remainder to the said Mary, Katharine, Joan ‘and John’ successively in tail, with remainder in default to his own right heirs. He died 18 Dec. last. Mary Gardener, aged 6 and more, is his daughter and heir.
CAMB.	Manor of Westle Waterle, worth 18 marks, held of the Bishop of Ely, service unknown. One hundred acres of land, 13a. meadow, 93a. pasture, 4a. wood, and 13s. 4d. rent, called ‘Carbonelles’ and ‘Stystedes,’ in Horseth and Shydy Camps, worth 6l., held of the said Bishop, service unknown.

	By deed dated 1 Sept., 1 Hen. VII, he enfeoffed Thomas Cheyne, esq., who survives, of the under-mentioned manor and lands to the use of his last will. He died 14 July, 4 Hen. VII. The said Thomas Cheyne, esq., aged 40 and more, is his son and heir. By letters patent dated 12 Aug., 4 Hen. VII, the said Thomas received the King’s pardon for all acquisitions, &c., prior to 7 Nov., 1 Hen. VII.
BEDF.	Manor of Eton, and the advowson of a chantry in the church of Eton, three water-mills, and a several fishery in the waters there, worth 13l. 6s. 8d., held of the King, by knight-service.

	Thomas Remston and Alice his wife being seised of the under-mentioned manor and lands in fee enfeoffed Thomas Burgoyn, and John Anstye, gentlemen, thereof, to their own use for life, with remainder to the use of the said John Cheyne, knt., and Elizabeth his wife, and the heirs of their bodies. On the death of the said Thomas and Alice Remston, the said John Cheyne with the assent of Burgoyn and Anstye entered on the premises and took the issues and profits thereof during his and the said Elizabeth’s lives. He died 13 July, 4 Hen. VII. Thomas Cheyne, esq., aged 40 and more, is his son and heir.
DERBY.	Manor of Bremyngton, with 6 messuages, 200a. land, 40a. meadow, 20a. wood, and 100a. pasture in Whetyndon, Brampton, and Calale, worth 6 marks, held of the King, as of the manor of Chesterfeld, service unknown.

	By deed dated 10 May, 20 Edw. IV, he enfeoffed Thomas Cheyne, esq., of the under-mentioned manor of Mochettes, to hold to him, his heirs, and assigns for ever. He died 14 July, 4 Hen. VII, seised of the other under-mentioned manors and lands in fee. Thomas Cheyne, aged 40 and more, is his son and heir.
CAMB.	Manor called ‘Walwyns’ in Long Stanton, worth 60s., held of the King, by fealty and 10 marks rent at Michaelmas and Easter yearly, as of the manor of Kartelynge, co. Cambridge, which came to the hands of King Edward IV by the attainder of Richard, late Earl of Warwick. A messuage, 200a. land, and 20a. pasture in Long Stanton, worth 40s., late belonging to Richard Hemyngton, held of the King, as of the said manor of Kartelynge, by fealty only. 	Writ 20 July, 4 Hen. VII; inq. Thursday after St. Matthew the Apostle, 5 Hen. VII.
	Thomas Remston was seised of the under-mentioned manor and advowsons in fee. He had issue a daughter Elizabeth, who married the said John Cheyne. On the death of the said Thomas the premises descended to the said Elizabeth, as his daughter and heir, whereby the said John and Elizabeth were seised of the said premises in fee, in her right. They had issue a son, Thomas Cheyne, and afterwards she died, and the said John survived her, and was seised of the said manor and advowsons in his demesne as of frank tenement, as tenant by the curtesy, and died so seised, when the said premises descended to the said Thomas, as her son and heir. He died 14 July, 4 Hen. VII. The said Thomas Cheyne, aged 40 and more, is son and heir both of the said John, and of the said Elizabeth.
NOTTS.	Manor of Tokysford, in Tokysford, with the advowson of two chantries in the church there, worth 5 marks, held of the King in chief, by service of 1/4 of a knight’s fee.

His father held his lands of George, Duke of Clarence, as of the manor of Plympton Earls, which manor by the attainder of the said Duke came to the hands of King Edward IV, who gave the custody of the said lands to John Denys of Orlegh, ‘gentilman.’

599	ELIZABETH STRAUNGE, widow.

	She died on the feast day of St. Crispin and St. Crispinian last, seised of the under-mentioned manors and lands in fee. She was lying at the point of death from the 20th of September, 6 Hen. VII, to the said feast day when she died, being weak with sickness, and neither of good nor of sound memory; but one John Hopper, her servant, at Walton Deville on Michaelmas day in the same year, produced a deed purporting to be hers, and read it, and delivered seisin of the capital messuage of the manor of Walton Deville to Richard Verney and others therein named, by virtue as he declared of her orders expressed in the said deed; whereas in truth she had delivered him no such charge. Anne and Margaret, daughters of Thomas Straunge, aged respectively 13 3/4 and 11 years at the time of her death, are her cousins and heirs, viz. daughters of the said Thomas Straunge her son.
WARW.	Manors of Walton Maundit and Walton Devyll, worth 6l., and 7l. respectively, held severally of the King, as of the manor of Warrewyke, by knight-service.
