Return from the sheriff of Wilts reciting writ to enquire whether Henry Hose of Bath is his heir, witnessed by Earl William Marshal, ruler of the king and the realm (undated), with inquisition (undated).
He had a sister who is a nun in Wilton abbey, and the jury know of no nearer heir than Henry Hose (Husato) of Thatewit.

[by serjeanty ?] of the falchion (de Gleyve) in fee; and after the said William's death Sayer (Sahierus) le Flemeng, nephew ... held that land. [The said Say ]er had entry through the guardians of the honour of Peverel, who were bailiffs of H. de Burgo ... de Tippetot now holds it, and has entry through Henry de Tippetot, sometime husband of the same ... it from the said Sayer. Endorsed. This inquisition was made in full county in the presence of Sir John le Fraunceys, who has the wardship of the lands &c., and who states that the said Walter was born two months after his father's death and will be 20 at the present feast of St. John the Baptist, which he can verify by the rolls of the Chancery by the writ issued when the king demised the wardship to Walter, bishop of Carlisle.
