LEICESTER.	Inq. taken at Wykyngeston, Monday the feast of St. Chad, 34 Edward III.
	Wykyngestone. The manor held jointly with Maud his wife, who survives, of William de Ferariis, knight, by knight’s service. He died on 23 January, 33 Edward III. Thomas de Veer, knight, his son, aged 23 years and more, is his heir.

	Leonhales. The castle and manor held of Roger de Mortuomari, earl of March, by knight’s service, of the inheritance of Maud his wife, who survives, as of the inheritance of Giles de Baddelesmere, as one of the sisters and heirs of the said Giles, by a partition made in chancery. 	Paston and Milton. The manors held of the inheritance of Maud his wife, as above, of the abbot of Peterborough in socage. Wolde. Two knights’ fees belonging to the earl’s castle of Hengham. He held no other lands in the county. Date of death and heir as above.

SOMERSET.	Inq. taken at Somerton, Monday after St. Valentine, 34 Edward III.
	He held no lands or tenements in the county. Date of death and heir not stated.
DORSET.	Inq. taken at Shaftesbury, Saturday before St. Valentine, 34 Edward III.
	Wroxhale. The manor held for the life of Maud his wife, by grant of Robert de Grey of Codenore, of the king in chief by knight’s service. Worthe. The manor held for the life of the same Maud by way of dower by the assignment of Robert, son of Robert Fitzpayn, sometime her husband, of the lady de Burgo (de domina de Burgo) by knight’s service. Date of death as above. Heir not known, because he was born outside the bailiwick.

	Langele and Bradele. The manor held of the king in chief, as of the fee late of Gilbert de Gaunt, by service of one knight’s fee. He held no other lands in the county. Date of death and heir as above.
WILTS.	Inq. taken at Marlebergh, 22 February, 34 Edward III.
	Storton. The manor held jointly with Maud his wife, of her dower by the endowment of Robert, son of Robert Fitzpayn, sometime her husband, of Nicholas de Seymore, lord of the manor of Cary, as of the right and inheritance of his wife, daughter and heir of the late Philip Lovel, by service of one knight’s fee and suit of court at Castle Cary (castrum de Cary) every three weeks. Pole. The manor held jointly with the same Maud by endowment of the same Robert, her first husband, at the church door when he married her, of Edward, prince of Wales, as of the manor of Shirreveton, late of the earl of Salisbury, by service of one knight’s fee and suit at the court of knights of Shirreveton every three weeks. Hurdecote. The manor held jointly with the same Maud, as of her inheritance as one of the sisters and heirs of Giles de Badelesmere, to which manor belong four knights’ fees in the same county. The manor and the fees are held of the king in chief as of the barony of Combe by service of one knight’s fee. He held no other lands in the county. Date of death and heir as above.

Calverton. The manor held of the king in chief by knight’s service; Aston. The manor held of the lord le Fitz Water by knight’s service. Both of which manors the deceased conveyed by charter dated 3 October, 33 Edward III, to John de Sutton, knight, the elder, John de Pelham, parson of the church of Wykham, Nicholas Pichard and Thomas Tuwe, without the king’s licence shewn to the escheator. 	Great Abyton. The manor held jointly with Maud his wife, to them and the heirs of their bodies, by fine levied in the king’s court 15 Edward III, of the king in chief by knight’s service. Great Caumpes. The manor similarly held by the same services. Swafham. The manor held of the lady of Clare in socage by service of 1d. yearly. Saxton. 	Laghton. The manor, with the hundred of Scheplak, held jointly with Maud his wife, as her inheritance as sister and one of the heirs of Giles de Badellesmere, of the king in chief as parcel of the barony of the honour of Laigle (de Aquila), which is in the hand of Philippa, queen of England, for what part of the barony is not known, and by service of doing suit at the court of Ripp’ every three weeks. He held no other lands in the county as they understand. Date of death and heir as above.
KENT.	Inq. taken at Baddelesmere, 19 February, 34 Edward III.
	Flete. The manor held jointly by the said earl and Maud his wife, by gift of Richard de Stokes, clerk, and John Fermer to them and the heirs of their bodies, by fine levied and now shewn, of the archbishop of Canterbury by service of doing suit at his palace every three weeks. 	Rydelyngwold. The manor held jointly with Maud his wife, of her inheritance as sister and one of the heirs of Giles de Badelesmere, of the king in chief as of the castle of Dover, service not known. 	Baddelesmere. The manor held jointly, as in the last, of the king in chief as of the castle of Dover which is in the king’s hand, by service of rendering for the ward of the said castle 13s. 4d. yearly and by service of rendering to the abbot of Feveresham 4l. 16s. 4d. yearly for other lands &c. in the manor not held of the king in chief, and by service of rendering to Michael de Ponyngis 18s. at Michaelmas, to the hospital of Pokeleshale 8s. 4d. yearly and at the manor of Hontyngfeld 8s. yearly. Whytstapele. The manor held jointly as above of the king in chief as parcel of the castle of Chulham by service of rendering yearly at the Gule of August 4s. at the said castle. MIDDLESEX.	Inq. taken at Westminster, 12 February, 34 Edward III.
	Kensyngton. The manor held jointly by the said John and Maud his wife by gift of Richard de Stok and John Fermer, by fine levied with the king’s licence to them and the heirs of their bodies, of the king in chief by knight’s service, amount not known. He held no other lands in the county. Date of death as above. Heir, Thomas as above, aged 24 years and more.

HERTFORD.	Inq. taken at Great Hormed, Saturday in the second week of Lent, 34 Edward III.
	Great Hormed. The manor held jointly with Maud his wife, by gift of John Fermer and Richard de Stokes, parson of the church of Lavenham, to them and the heirs of their bodies with remainder to the right heirs of the earl, by fine levied with the king’s licence, of the king in chief as of the barony of Sampford, service not known. Welles. The manor held of the right and inheritance of Maud his wife, of Edward de Kendale by service of 26s. 8d. yearly. Plesshes. 26s. 8d. yearly rent receivable from the manor as of the right and inheritance of Maud his wife, which manor Master Richard de Plesshes now holds. He died on 24 January last. Heir, Thomas as above, aged 22 years and more.
SUFFOLK.	Inq. taken at Lavenham, Thursday after St. Matthias, 34 Edward III.
	Lavenham. The manor of Lavenham called ‘Overhalle’ and the manor of ‘Netherhalle’ in Lavenham held of the king in chief by knight’s service. Aldham. The manor held of the king in chief by knight’s service. Cokefeld. The manor held of the abbot of St. Edmund’s, service not known. The manor (extent given), including a park of 80a., a grove of 30a. called ‘Dagforthehey’ and a leet held on the feast of St. Katherine, held of the king in chief as parcel of the earldom of Oxford, service not known. Stansted Monfychet. The manor (extent given), including a park of 200a. and a leet on Monday after SS. Peter and Paul, held of the king in chief as parcel of the barony of Monfychet by service of one knight’s fee. Both held of fee tail in the same form as the manor of Colne, above. Bures Giffard. The earl in his lifetime seized into his hands 50a. fallow, a marsh and rents, claiming them as an escheat for lack of heir after the death of John Giffard of Bures, who held them of the earl as of the manor of Gelham by knight’s service. The jury do not know whether they are such escheat or no, but they say the earl died seised of such estate therein. Date of death and heir as last above.

	Okham. The castle and town, with the members Egelton and Langham (extents given) and the office of sheriff of Rutland, held of the king in chief by gift of King Edward III to the deceased and the heirs of his body, service not known. Okham. The extent includes the castle in which there is a hall with divers chambers, a chapel, kitchen, stables and houses of divers officers and a fishery in the moat, meadows called ‘le Fishpoll’ and ‘Southdale,’ several pasture called ‘le Mulneholm,’ pasture without the gates of Fliterys; a custom called ‘Scorfe’ payable at Michaelmas by the villeins of Okham and Egelton, a weekly market on Saturday and a yearly fair on the feast of the Decollation of St. John the Baptist, and two parks, one with deer, the other without, one surrounded by a stone wall and the other by a hedge. The office of sheriff is worth 20l. a year. Langham is not a manor. He died on Thursday after the Exaltation of the Cross last. Heir, Humphrey, as above. Annual charges on the above:— To the parson of the chapel of the castle, 50s. Expenses, including flooding the moat, 100s. Fee of the sheriff executing that office and the steward, 20l. The manor (extent given) held [for life] in right of his wife, deceased, of the inheritance of the heir of Roger de Mortuo Mari, earl of March who held of the king in chief, a minor in the king’s wardship. The extent includes some ruinous buildings, 2 carucates of arable land, 50a. meadow, a wood called ‘le Park,’ a windmill, rents of 21l. of free tenants and villeins, 11 tofts and 11 virgates of land in the lord’s hands for want of tenants, which paid 11l. yearly before the pestilence. Note, there are other profits which can be extended, but they say the heir of Roger de Mortuo Mari, late earl of March, is kinsman and heir of the countess, late wife of the said William the earl, in the said manor. List of names of bailiffs &c. of the lands late of William de Bohun, earl of Northampton, in Rutland:— William de Overton is sheriff of Rutland and steward of Okham, Egelton and Langham as he was in the earl’s lifetime. Simon Hony is reeve of Okham and Egelton and collector of rents there. William Dobbesone is reeve of Langham and collector of rents. William Chamberleyn is constable of Okham castle. William Leuspre is porter (janitor) of the castle and keeper of the gaol. Richard de Baynbrigge is parker of the parks there.

Two parts of the manor and two parts of the soke (extent given), including two water-mills, malt from which was given long ago in alms to the friars minors of Grantham by the lords of the manor, two parts of 20s. yearly rent of butchers and brewers dwelling on the lord’s fee, a weekly market on Saturday and two yearly fairs on Ascension day and the feast of St. Wolfram respectively; and two parts of a court baron, held of the king in chief to the deceased and his heirs male by knight’s service, for how much not known. Great Paunton. Two parts of the manor, which is of the abovenamed socage. Staunford. Two parts of the manor, with the castle (extent given), including two parts of the watermills of Bradecroft in Staunford, two parts of a moiety of a watermill there called ‘le Kyngesmilne,’ two parts of a weekly market on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, two parts of a fair at Mid-Lent, two parts of a custom called ‘Bochelgelde’ and ‘Wyndowegelde,’ and two parts of the court in the castle with the pleas of the market in ‘le Tolbothe’; held of the king in chief by homage and fealty. Joan, late the wife of John de Warrenne, earl of Surrey, holds the residue of these manors as her third part by way of dower of the king. The deceased died on Thursday after the Exaltation of the Holy Cross, 34 Edward III. Heir Humphrey, as above, aged 19 years and more. 	Gussych. A messuage &c., 120a. arable, 8a. meadow, hilly and dry and therefore only worth 1s. 3d. an acre, 40a. pasture and 5s. 4d. rent of cottages; held of Edmund, heir of the earl of March, a minor in the king’s wardship, by fealty and rendering 22s. 2 1/2d. yearly, viz. 13s. 4d. at Michaelmas, 4s. 5d. at the Purification and 4s. 5 1/2d. at ‘le Hokkeday,’ and doing suit at the court of Gussych. Gussych St. Michael’s. The manor (extent given), including eight cocks and sixteen hens for Churcheshutt at Martinmas, held for life of the inheritance of the aforesaid Edmund, by gift of Richard Garlond and Richard Dekne to the deceased and Elizabeth his wife and her heirs, whereby the reversion belongs to the aforesaid earl (of March) as kinsman and heir of the said Elizabeth, of the earl of Hereford by service of 1d. yearly.
