Cloncoskeran. 40a. land held of Robert de Gloucestre and his heirs paying 1d.
Balycochyn. ½ carucate land held of the prior of Conal rendering 10s. yearly.
Moyrodde. 10a. waste held of Henry de Port without rent.
Dongarvan Burgagery. 1 carucate land.
Reymescallok. ½ mark yearly from the lordship of land so called.

Writ to Thomas de Normanvill, to extend the manor of Neuham and commit it to John de Vescy until the lawful age of the heir according to its true value. 9 Feb. 11 Edw. I.
[Northumberland.] Extent Sunday after the Octave of the Annunciation, 11 Edw. I.
Neuham. The manor (extent given), from which are due for the guard of the eastle of Alnewik ½ mark yearly, at the manor of Tughal ½ mark, and to
Walter Camehow of the gift of the said lord 5 marks yearly. The manor is delivered to the said John until the king shall otherwise ordain.
Writ to the sheriff of Essex and Hertford, escheator there, 17 Feb. 11 Edw. I.

Sawecaumpe, The manor, viz.—a messuage, 200a. arable, 10a. meadow, 5½a. pasture, 53s. 8d. rent of assize, a watermill, 6l. works of customary tenants, &c. held of the king in chief by service of 1 knight's fee; and 160a. arable and 2a. pasture, held of Richard de Ewelle by service of 2 marks yearly.

A moiety, held of the lands of Margery his wife of the fee of Hugh son of Patrick; a messuage and 7 selions, held of the fee and heirs of William de Bestan, and by those heirs of the fee of Hugh son of Patrick; a messuage and 2 crofts, held of Thomas de Hodenhul, and by him of the fee of Hugh son of Patrick and William de Bonebury.
Teverton. A third part of the mill and 1 bovate land and a messuage, held of the fee of William Chany.
John, son of the said Henry and Margery his wife, aged 3½, is his heir.

Hompton. 60a. land and 8a. meadow, of which he was seised in demesne as of fee in Engleseye, were held of the lord of Teddesthorne de la Mare, viz.—of Joan, who was the sister of William de la Mare of Rindecombe.
Richard his son, is his next heir and of full age.

489. Walter de Jay, deceased.
Writ of certiorari to the Sheriff of Salop on the petition of Richard de Amundevill and Maud his wife, sometime the wife of John son of Alan, asserting that a knight's fee held by the said Walter of the said John in Jaye was assigned to the said Maud in dower, 2 April, 11 Edw. I.
Salop. Inq. Sunday after St. Mary Magdalen, 11 Edw. I.
Jaye and Bedeston. The fee of Walter de Hopton, Walter de Bockenhull, Roger de Hauberdin, John de la Sunede and Walter de Jaye were (sic) assigned to the said Maud in dower, in recompence of other fees, and the said Maud has no recompence for the said fee.

490. Anketin son of Ralph Salvayn.
Writ of certiorari, on the complaint of the said Ralph that certain lands which he had demised to the said Anketin to be held of him had been taken into the king's hand by occasion of the death of the said Anketin, 3 Feb. 11 Edw. I.
York. Inq. made at Haumelak, Thursday before St. Mark, 11 Edw. I.
Dalton. The said Ralph enfeoffed the said Anketin of all the lands, &c. which he had by the courtesy of England by reason of the marriage of Margery his wife, to be held to him and his heirs for 5s. to be rendered to the king for the lands, &c. of Dalton, in the said Ralph's name, and 1d. to the said Ralph for his life. The lands of Dalton are held of the king in chief by serjeanty and by service of 5s. yearly.

491. Thomas de Langeton.
Writ of certiorari, on the complaint of Henry de Lacy, earl of Lincoln, that the manor of Langeton held of him by the said Thomas had been taken into the king's hand, because the said Thomas held a certain land in co. Lincoln of the fee of the earldom of Albemarle, 22 April, 11 Edw. I.

The said Thomas held no lands of the king in chief as of his crown; but held a messuage and 1 carucate land in Hagworthingham, of the fee of the earl of Albemarle which is in the king's hand as escheat (after the death of Avelina sometime countess of Albemarle). He held no other lands whereby the king ought to have the wardship of his lands &c.

492. Adam de Chetewynd.
Writ to the sheriff of Salop and Stafford, on the complaint of Eva de Oswaldestre that certain manors of which she had the custody by the gift of the said Adam, were taken into the king's hand after his death, 28 Dec. 11 Edw. I.
Stafford [and Salop]. Inq. Saturday after the Epiphany, 11 Edw. I.
The said Eva had of the gift of the said Adam the custody of the manors of Tyxhal, Ypstanes, Weston and Chetewynd long before his death, and was always in peaceful possession thereof, excepting the hunting of the park of Ipstanes, and the fishery of the great pond of Ipstanes and of the pond of Weston, until through the death of the said Adam the custody of those manors was taken into the king's hand by the sheriff.
And John son of Philip enfeoffed John son of Adam de Chetewynd of the manor of Hortwell, and he was always in peaceful seisin until the manor was taken into the king's hand by the sheriff.
Mandate to cause the said Eva to have the king's writs according to the tenor of this inquisition; and whereas the said Adam was in debt to the king and the king to him, to command the Treasurer &c. of the exchequer to cause his debtors to come to answer to his executors; and to write to Edmund de Mortuomari to put Richard de Bishopeston clerk in possession of the chapel of the castle of Ossewaldestre, which the king lately granted him.

Kyngisle. ¼ knight's fee held of the king in chief by homage and service pertaining to ¼ knight's fee.
Manleye. The lordship of 1/8 fee held of the lord of Dunham.
Pulton and Bebyngton, Hulle and Apelton. 2 fees held of John de Boydel by service of 1 knight to be done to the castle of Dodeliston.
Litlemolis. 1/8 fee held of Robert le Grosvenur and Margery his wife by service of one suit at the court of Kaldeye.
William, son of William his first born son, is his next heir and of full age.

Writ to Geoffrey de Pecheford, constable of the castle of Wyndesor, 25 May, 11 Edw. I.
[Berks.] Inq. reciting the above writ, Saturday after Holy Trinity.
Old Windesor. 11a. arable and 1a. meadow held of the king, doing the keeping of the king's park of Windesor and receiving the fee pertaining to the parkership which is worth 60s. 10d. yearly, for which fee he found one man or two daily for keeping the park; 5a. land held of the king, rendering a pair of gloves, and 4a. arable rendering 2s. yearly; and a messuage and 10a. land, held of Richard Bataylle rendering 7s. yearly.
[Surrey.] Egeham parish. A messuage, 15a. arable, and 8a. meadow held of the abbot of Certese, service unspecified.
Ingelfeld. 12s. rent for which he rendered 11s. to the abbot of Certese and owed suit at his court of Godelee.
Roger his son, aged 30 and more, is his next heir.
Mandate to H. de Kendale and W. de Odiham to command Sir Geoffrey de Picheford, having accepted the fealty of the said heir, to give him seisin of his inheritance, 1 July.

Stowe. A messuage, 20a. arable, a pasture, and 5s. 8d. rent of assize, held of the bishop of Lincoln by 6d. yearly and foreign service.
He died on the eve of St. Michael, 10 Edw. I.

Stafford [and Salop]. Inq. Friday before St. Denis, 11 Edw. I.
Perton, held of the king in chief by serjeanty by service of following the king in time of war in Wales for forty days with one bare (nudo) horse and
himself armed with a hacqueton, doublet, basinet and lance, viz.—for 8 days at his own cost, and the residue at the king's cost, himself being at the king's table, and yet receiving 8d. a day.
Stirtlegh. 1 carucate land held of the abbot of Buldewas by homage rendering 3s. yearly.
John his son, aged 21 and more, is his next heir.

497. John, son of John de Hynton.
Writ. 28 July, 11 Edw. I.
Cambridge. Extent. Sunday after the Decollation of St. John the Baptist 11 Edw. I.
Hinton. The manor (extent given) held of Hugh son of Henry in chief by service of ½ knight's fee; but the said John did not die seised of the manor, but eight days before he died he gave the same by deed to Roger de Torentone, who had full seisin for the said eight days and for two months after the said John's death, when the bailiffs of the count of Britanny and of Sir Hugh son of Henry unjustly ejected him, until he recovered by writ of novel dissesin before R. Lovedai and R. de Ludham justices assigned for that purpose.
The jury do not know who is his next heir, nor of what age.

[Salop.] Inq. Sunday before St. Bartholomew, 11 Edw. I.
Chotinton. A messuage with garden and two small fish ponds (vivavar'), two parts of 2 carucates land, ⅓a. meadow, a wood, 6l. 15s. 6d. rent of assize &c. held of the king in chief by serjeanty, doing the service of one footman in the king's army when war shall happen between the king and the prince of Wales, at his own charge until the man shall have expended half a hog (bacon') in that army; and a third part of 2 carucates land in demesne, and 1 carucate and 3 virgates, which others hold of him rendering 63s. 9d. yearly, &c. held of Sir Hugh Burnel rendering to him 4l. 13s. 4d. yearly.
Sir Roger Corbet is his next heir, and of full age.

Scheynd. The manor (extent given) held of the king in chief by service of ¼ knight's fee; and a grove within the demesne of Scheynd for which he rendered 12d. yearly to the king.
John his son, aged 21 on the feast of St. Catherine, 11 Edw. I., is his next heir.

Wilts. Extent, Thursday the morrow of St. Edward, 11 Edw. I.
Sende. The manor (extent given) to the same effect as above.
He died on Friday after St. Mark, 11 Edw. I. He some time took to wife Christiana daughter of Richard de Bosco of Cheddewurth, co. Gloucester, and begot of her a son named John, who is aged 24 and more; during the life of the said Christiana he took one Ellen to wife and begot a child of her; but the said John is his next heir.

500. Nicholas, son and heir of Simon de Aysshewell alias. de Ayswell, de Assewell, de Essewell.
Writ to John de Lovetot and Roger de Leycestre to enquire whether the said Nicholas, who was born and baptized at Aysshewell, and is in the king's wardship, is of full age, as he says, 4 June, 11 Edw. I.
Writ to the sheriff of Essex to summon a jury and to warn Hawis de Aysshewell, guardian of the said heir's land to be present, 4 June, 11 Edw. I.
Mandate of venire facias from the commissioners to the sheriff, with two Jury panels.
Essex. Proof of age (undated).
He was of full age on Saturday before the gule of August, 9 Edw. I.; and this the jury know because the said Simon married the mother of the said Nicholas in the year of the great dearth of corn, and the said Nicholas was born the following year, which is 24 years ago, and was baptized in the church of Saldeford.
The said Simon held of the king; and the mother of the said Nicholas has the custody of the lands until his lawful age by the king's commission.
