Writ of certiorari to Henry de Hockele, keeper of forfeited lands &c. in co. Warwick, on the petition of Paulinus de Brome of Lapworth, for the lands &c. of the said Robert to be delivered to him as his son and next heir, and of full age, 18 April, 19 Edward II.
WARWICK. Inq. Wednesday the feast of St. George the Martyr, 19 Edward II.
Lappeworth. A messuage, 1 1/2 carucate of land, and 30s. rent, were held by the said Robert of Thomas earl of Lancaster by knight’s service, service of 4s. rent, and two attendances at the view of frank pledge of the liberty of the honour of Leicester in co. Warwick. The said lands &c. came to the lands of the said earl in wardship by reason of the minority of Paulinus son of the said Robert, and were taken into the king’s hand by the forfeiture of the said earl. Petronilla late the wife of the said Robert was dowered of a third of the said lands &c. in the time of the said earl.
Paulinus, his son, aged 24, is his next heir.

Hembury. A messuage and a virgate of land, held of the bishop of Worcester, by doing suit at his court there, and service of 1/16 knight’s fee.

Bouelithe. A virgate of land, and a moiety of a messuage, held of John Haket by fee and suit at his court at Upmeredon.

Eginton. A capital messuage, 30a. arable, 6a. meadow, a fourth part of a water-mill, and 5l. rent, and 20s. yearly rent in Ambaldston, held of Ralph Frechevill and his heirs by service of 1/8 knight’s fee.

657. HUGH DAUDELEYE alias DE AUDELEYE.
Writ of certiorari to John Loveday and others, on the petition of James Daudeleye for livery of the manor of Stretton, which Ela Daudeleye gave to Hugh Daudeleye, whose heir he is, and to the heirs of his body; which manor was taken into the king’s hand by the rebellion of the said Hugh, who has now died, 9 March, 19 Edward II.
OXFORD. Inq. Saturday after the Annunciation, 19 Edward II.
Stretton. The manor was given by Ela de Audeleie to Hugh de Audeleye her son and the heirs of his body by her charter on Monday after St. Frideswide, 1 Edward I, and the said Hugh peacefully continued his seisin thereof until through his rebellion it was taken into the king’s hand. The manor is held of Eblo le Estraunge and Alesia his wife, as of her right, by service of 1/3 knight’s fee.
James de Audeleie is his son and heir.
Writ of certiorari to John Inge and others, on the petition of James de Audeleye for a fourth part of the manor of Mere, co. Stafford, which was taken into the king’s hand by the rebellion of the said Hugh his father, now deceased, 17 March, 19 Edward II.
STAFFORD. Inq. Thursday in Easter week, 19 Edward II.
Mere. William de Mere enfeoffed the said Hugh of a fourth part of the manor, and of a fourth part of a fourth part, and of 4a. land and 12a. turbary in Mere by Assheleye, in 11 Edward II, and the said Hugh in the same year granted the same back, by fine levied in the king’s court, to the said William for life with reversion to the said Hugh and his heirs; and after the death of the said William the king’s escheator seized the same into the king’s hand by reason of the rebellion of the said Hugh, who was at that time in the king’s prison at Wallyngford, and there they still remain. The lands &c., are held of Thomas de Halghton, by service of 1/4 knight’s fee.
James his son, is his next heir.
Petition to the king and council from the aforesaid James for livery of the lands &c. abovesaid, which are in the king’s hand through the quarrel of the earl of Lancaster. Endorsed. Let this petition be sent to the chancery, and if it be so, let the said James be restored to his heritage with the issues &c.

St. Briavell. A messuage and 12a. land, held of the king in chief by service of keeping vert and venison in the forest of Dene.
Aure. A messuage and a virgate of land, held of Margaret la Mortimer and Joan de Valencia by service of 5s. yearly.
The said Robert’s lands &c. are in the king’s hand by reason of the minority of his heir and not otherwise.

659. NIGEL DE KYNGESCOTE.
Writ of certiorari on the petition of William de Kyngescote, praying livery of the lands &c. of the said Nigel, as his son and next heir and of full age, 20 April, 19 Edward II.
GLOUCESTER. Inq. Monday after the Ascension, 19 Edward II.
Kyngescote. A messuage and a carucate of land, which were of the said Nigel came to the hands of Thomas de Berkeley by reason of the minority of the said William, because the said Nigel held them of the said Thomas by service of a third part of 1/2 knight’s fee; and afterwards they came to the hands of Maurice de Berkeleye executor of the said Thomas, through whose rebellion they were taken into the king’s hand and are now in the custody of Robert de Aston.
William his son, aged 21 and more, is his next heir.

660. PETRONILLA, LATE THE WIFE OF WILLIAM DE GOUYZ.

DORSET. Inq. 27 August, 19 Edward II.
Duntysh. The manor, and the hamlet of Tyleye and 100s. of land and rent in Deuelysh, held in dower of John le Latymer and Joan his wife, as of the inheritance of the said Joan, daughter and heir of the said William, service unspecified.
Joan her daughter, and also daughter and heir of the said William, aged 30 and more, is her next heir.
Writ of certiorari to the keepers of alien’s lands in co. Dorset, who upon the petition of the abovesaid John and Joan for livery of the lands &c. abovesaid, had signified that on 10 October last they had taken the same into the king’s hand because the said Petronilla was an alien and in the power of the king of France in Normandy, and the said John having asserted that the said Petronilla has died, 14 October, 19 Edward II.

The said Petronilla died on Monday before St. Andrew, 18 Edward II.
