Two messuages, 3 carucates of land and 10l. rent, of which she was enfeoffed jointly with the said Andrew late her husband by Richard de Rademyld, parson of the church of Kyngeston, and Roger, parson of the church of Blachyngton, by fine levied in the king’s court, held for her life of Sir John de Moubray, as of the barony of Brembre, by service of two knights’ fees. Blachyngton. Two parts of the manor, of which she was enfeoffed as above, held for her life of Lady Philippa, queen of England, as of the honour of Laigle, by service of rendering 4s. 5 1/2d. yearly for the ward of the castle of Pevenese. And after the death of the said Andrew and Alice, the aforesaid tenements and two parts shall remain wholly to Andrew, son of the said Andrew, and the heirs of his body. Excete, Alvericheston, Rip and Schiryngton. Three messuages and 3 carucates of land, held as dower by the assignment of Andrew, son of the said Andrew and Alice. The said Andrew their son, aged 25 years and more, is their next heir.

	Pateshulle. The manor (extent given) held of the king in chief as parcel of the manor of Wodhulle which is held of the king by knight’s service. John his son, aged 16 years and more, is his next heir.

	Tyderle. A messuage and a carucate of land, held of the earl of Salisbury by service of suit at his hundred [court] of Aumbresbiry. Great Dernefford. A messuage and 2 carucates of land were demised by the said John to Robert de Wodefford for his life and for two years beyond, with reversion to the said John and his heirs. The said Robert satisfied the said John for the whole time beforehand. The said lands &c. are held of the said earl by the service aforesaid. Little Dernefford. A messuage and 2 carucates of land were demised by the said John to Ralph Ive and Mary his wife for their lives, with reversion to the said John and his heirs. The said lands &c. are held of the said earl by the service aforesaid. Heir as above.

	Wodhull and Langeford. The manors (extents given), and the manor of Pateshull, co. Aulton and Haliburn Westbrouk. 45a. land, held of Thomas de Westcote by service of 11s. 8d. yearly; and two parts of a dovecot, a garden, and 70a. arable, held of Margaret late the wife of Edmund, late earl of Kent, as of the ancient demesne of Aulton, by service of 23s. yearly, and suit at the court of Aulton. Purye. Two parts of the manor held of Sibyl, late the wife of William de Hunstan, by service of a pair of gloves yearly, price 1d.; and two parts of a croft held of the bishop of Winchester by service of 4s. yearly. Northampton; which manor and the said tenements are held of the king by service of a fortieth part of a knight’s fee. Adestok. The manors, and a carucate of land in Trehanna, whereof he enfeoffed Master Henry de Tallan, parson of the church of Nyweton, by the king’s charter of licence. Penpol, Wynston Rauf, Aiston Johan, Croketon, Legh, Cornnewode, Spredeliston, Locton, Loderton, Poselynch, and Bromyston. Eleven and a quarter knights’ fees of Mortain, whereof he enfeoffed the said Master Henry by the said licence, who re-enfeoffed the said William and Maud his wife of the same, to hold for their lives. The said William held the same of the king, as of the barony of Tremyngton, by knight’s service; but the tenants of the said knights’ fees never attorned to the said Henry, nor did him homage or other services, wherefore the said William died seised of those fees as of fee. John his son, aged 20 years and 15 months and no more on the day of his father’s death, viz.—the feast of St. Luke in the year abovesaid, is his next heir.

	Suthmymmes. The manor (extent given) held jointly with Sibyl his wife, who still survives, of the gift of John Dabernon to them and the heirs of the said Thomas, of the earl of Hereford (Herford), by service of doing suit at his court twice a year, viz.—once at Whitechapel (ad Albam Capellam), and once at Herteford. 48.	SIMON LOVEGOD, of Hundmanby.

YORK.	Inq. Wednesday after St. Lucy the Virgin, 10 Edward III.
	Hundmanby. A toft where was a messuage and a bovate of land, held for his life of the grant of Gilbert de Gaunt, sometime lord of the manor, rendering 4s. yearly to the said Gilbert and his heirs, with reversion to the said Gilbert and his heirs. And afterwards, a certain Robert de Tattersale recovered as his right, in the court of “E. late king of England, great-grandfather (proavi) of the present king,” against the said Gilbert, the said manor, to hold to the said Robert and his heirs for ever. And after the death of the said Robert, the manor descended to Thomas Cailly, Joan de Dryby, and Isabel de Orreby, his co-heirs, who entered upon the same, viz.—each one on his pourparty, by process of the king’s court. The said rent of 4s. together with the reversion of the said toft and land were assigned to the pourparty of the said Thomas Cailly, who during the whole of his life time was seised of the said rent; and after his death, that pourparty descended to Adam de Clyffton, kinsman and heir of the said Thomas, who entered thereon, and held it until the day of the death of the said Simon Lovegod. The reversion of the said toft and land, after the death of the said Simon, pertains to the said Adam, by reason of the aforesaid assignment: they are held of the king in chief, as parcel of the manor of Hundmanby, the whole of which manor is held of the king in chief by service of two and a half knights’ fees. At the time when the said Thomas held his pourparty of the said inheritance, a certain escheator of King Edward II, seized into that king’s hand the aforesaid toft, which was then a messuage, because of the trespass of the said Simon in acquiring the same for his life without the king’s licence of the said Gilbert, who held the same of the king in chief; and thus the said toft remained in the king’s hand, and in the wardship of John son of William le Clerk of Hundmanby by the king’s commission, until the said Simon’s death. He held no other lands &c.

	Saunford Peverel. The manor (extent given), the hundred of Halberton, a moiety of the profit of the view of frankpledge in the manor of Halberton, a messuage, a mill, lands and rent, and a moiety of a knight’s fee, in Alre Peverel, and the advowson of the cell of the priory of Montacute of Carswell, held jointly with Margery his wife who died in his lifetime, for their lives, by the grant of Walter de Saunford and Edmund his brother with the king’s charter of licence, with remainder to Oliver de Dynham and Edith his wife and the heirs of their bodies, to hold of the king and his heirs by the accustomed services for ever; which Oliver and Edith still survive. The aforesaid manor, hundred, moiety, tenements and advowson, are held of the king in chief by service of serving the king with a cup, as often as he should happen to come to the said manor of Saunford. The said Edith, aged 30 years, is his daughter and next heir.

A messuage, 80a. arable and 6a. meadow, held jointly with Maud his wife, of Peter de Grandisino (sic) by service of doing suit at the court of Markele. He died on 30 April last. Henry his son, aged 32 years on the feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Mary last, is his next heir.

	Stapelton. The manor (extent given) held of the king in chief by service of the petty serjeanty of finding an armed horseman in the king’s war. Budelegh. A capital messuage, lands and rent &c. (extent given), held of Reginald Husee by service of 2d. yearly. Somerton. A capital messuage, lands and rent (extent given), held of the manor of Somerton, which is in the wardship of William de Monte Acuto through the minority of the heir of the earl of Kent, by service of 20s. yearly, and doing suit at the court of Somerton twice a year. The said tenements in Somerton, together with the manor of Stapelton, are charged for the support of Rose (Roesia), late the wife of Robert de Sancto Claro, mother of the said Robert now deceased, viz.—for finding her food, clothing and other necessaries suitable to her station, to the value of 10 marks, or 10 marks to be received yearly for her life at her will; for the said Rose was seised of the said tenements at Somerton as dower, and demised them to the said Robert under that condition.
