Tuesday, November 1. Present:—Colonel Bladen, Mr. Plumer, Mr. Keene.

The Board took into consideration the sixteen Acts, passed in the province of the Massachusets Bay (laid before the Council the 26th August, 1741), referred to them by Order of the Lords of the Committee of Council, dated 10th November, 1741, and read the 18th of that month, and made some progress therein.
Ordered that the Secretary write to Mr. Christopher Kilby, agent for the said province, to acquaint him that the Board would be glad to have some discourse with him to-morrow, at twelve, on the subject of some of the said Acts.
Wednesday, November 2. Present:—Colonel Bladen, Mr. Plumer.
Massachusets.
Mr. Kilby, agent for the province of the Massachusets Bay, attending, as desired by the minutes of yesterday, the Board had some discourse with him on the subject of several of the Acts, passed in the said province, mentioned in those minutes; and he being withdrawn, the Board made some further progress in the consideration of the said Acts.
Thursday, November 17. Present:—Colonel Bladen, Mr. Ashe, Mr. Plumer, Mr. Keene.

Linen Manufacture.
Ireland.
Read a letter to the Secretary of this Board, dated at Overton in Cheshire, October 19th, 1743, from Mr. Lowndes, relating to a scheme he has to communicate, which will be greatly to the advantage of the linen manufacture of Ireland, without any prejudice to the trade of Great Britain; desiring at the same time that their lordships will please to order a copy of his letter to be transmitted to the Honourable Linen Board, at Dublin.
Ordered that the Secretary, in his answer to Mr. Lowndes' letter, acquaint him that, as he has not communicated his scheme to this Board, they cannot comply with his request, but that they think it adviseable for him to make his application directly to that Board.
Bermuda.
Read an Order of the Lords of the Committee of Council, dated November 10th, 1743, directing this Board to prepare the draught of an instructions for his Majesty's signature to the Governor of the Bermuda Islands, relating to an alteration in the 73rd article of his instructions, pursuant to an address of the Council and inhabitants of those Islands to his Majesty.
Ordered that the draught of an instruction be prepared accordingly, together with a report to the Lords of the Committee of Council, to accompany the same.
Wednesday, November 23. Present:—Lord Monson, Colonel Bladen, Mr. Ashe, Mr. Plumer.
Bermuda.
The draught of a report to the Lords of the Committee of Council, for accompanying the draught of an instruction for the Governor of Bermudas, mentioned in the preceding minute, was laid before the Board, agreed to, transcribed and signed.
Trade.
East India.
Read an Order of the Lords of the Committee of Council, dated November 10th, 1743, referring to this Board an account of the East India Company's exports from London, between the 29th of September, 1742, and the 29th of September, 1743, to be examined and reported upon.
Jamaica.
Read a letter from Mr. Williams, Deputy Secretary of Jamaica, dated July 9th, 1743, inclosing a list of all such persons in that Island, as have entitled themselves to the benefit of the late Act of Parliament (13th George II, Cap. 7, Sect. 5.) for naturalizing foreign protestants, settled in any of his Majesty's Colonies in America, from the 1st of June, 1742, to the 1st of June, 1743.

Read a letter, by way of memorial, from Mr. Auchmuty, Judge of the Admiralty in New England, to the Board, dated this day, relating to the illicit trade carried on in the Colonies of Rhode Island and Connecticut, chiefly owing to the want of a Comptroller of the Customs in Rhode Island; and proposing that such an officer be appointed in that Colony; whereupon ordered that a copy of Mr. Auchmuty's said letter be sent to Mr. Wood, and that he be desired to lay the same before the Commissioners of his Majesty's Customs, for their consideration.

A letter to Mr. Wood, Secretary to the Commissioners of his Majesty's Customs, for inclosing a copy of Mr. Auchmuty's letter, mentioned in the minutes of yesterday, having been laid before the Board, was agreed to, and ordered to be sent.

The Board took again into consideration the sixteen Acts, passed in the province of the Massachusets Bay (laid before the Council the 26th of August, 1741), referred by Order of the Lords of the Committee of Council, the 10th November, 1741 (as mentioned in the minutes of the 1st and 2nd instant), and ordered the draught of a report to the Lords of the Committee thereupon, to be prepared.
