HODIE, ad horam prescriptam, Domino Rege in suo solio sedente, convenerunt memorati Domini, cum Communibus de Domo Inferiori simul presentibus, quorum Prolocutor, Humfridus Wingfield, Miles, Orationem, quam Dominus Rex humanissime acceptavit, luculenter pandebat; cui fine imposito et responsu habito, Thomas Audeley, Miles, Anglie Cancellarius, ex Regio Jussu, (universis et singulis que utraque Domus ad Reipublice Commodum excogitaverunt conducibilia lectis, per Regium eximium Consensum ratificatis) presens Parliamentum realiter prorogabat in tertium diem mensis Novembris immediate sequentis; ad quem quidem diem, ex Regia parte, mandans universis et singulis quorum obsequium est in hac parte, simul ad domos consuetas sine dilatione redituris.

Ac, ex Regia parte, preterea intimabat, "unum Actum inter ceteros in hac Sessione Parliamenti editum, concernentem Confirmationem Juris, quod Regii Exitus de Corporibus Domini Regis nostri metuendissimi, et Domine Anne Consortis sue, Anglie Regine, procreati, five procreandi, habere debent ad Coronam Imperialem hujus Regionis Anglie, primum et commodissimum esse; in quo constituitur inter cetera, quod omnes et singuli, ac in solidi corporalia, prestiterint Sacramenta, et peragere et perimplere omnia in eodem Actu comprehensa, quibus observandis felicitas hujus Regni consistit, quam quidem executionem prefatus Dominus Rex per suas Literas Patentes, cum tenore Juramenti eisdem annexo infra scriptas, commisit illustribus Viris, predicto Domino Cancellario, T. Archiepiscopo Cant. Thome Duci Northf. Sacramentum et Fidelitatem omnium et singulorum Ducium, Comitum, Baronum, Episcoporum, Abbatum, Priorum, Militum, ac omnium et singulorum aliorum Legiorum et Subditorum Nostrorum, quorumcunque cujuscunque Gradus seu Conditionis fuerunt, juxta vim, formam et effectum, cujusdam Statuti, in presenti Parliamento Nostro, Securitatem, Statum et Successionem Nostram concernentem editi et provisi, ac juxta tenorem Sacramenti presentibus annexi; et idem Sacramentum sic ceperitis, Nos de nominibus eorum qui hujusmodi Sacramentum coram vobis prestabunt in Cancellaria Nostra, sub Sigillis vestris trium, vel duorum vestrum, sine dilacione reddatis certiores, remittentes Nobis has Literas Nostras Patentes, et ideo vobis mandamus quod circa premissa diligenter intendatis ac ea faciere et exequamini cum effectu. In cujus rei testimonium has Literas Nostras sieri fecimus Patentes. Teste Meipso apud Westm. xxx° die Martii, Anno Regni Nostri xxv°."

The OATH.

Form of the Oath.

"Ye shall swear to bear your Faith, Truth, and Obedience, alonely to the King's Majesty, and to the Heirs of his Body, according to the Limitation and Rehearsal within this Statute of Succession above specified, and not to any other within this Realm, nor foreign Authority, Prince, or Potentate; and in case any Oath be made, or hath been made, by you, to any other Person or Persons, that then you to repute the same as vain and annihilate; and that, to your Cunning, Wit, and uttermost of your Power, without Guile, Fraud, or other undue Means, ye shall observe, keep, maintain, and defend, this Act above specified, and all the whole Contents and Effects thereof, and all other Acts and Statutes made since the Beginning of this present Parliament, in Confirmation or for due Execution of the same, or of any thing therein contained; and thus ye shall do against all Manner of Persons, of what Estate, Dignity, Degree, or Condition soever they be, and in no wise do or attempt, nor to your Power suffer to be done or attempted, directly or indirectly, any Thing or Things, privily or apertly, to the Let, Hindrance, Damage, or Derogation thereof, or of any Part of the same, by any Manner of Means, or for any Manner of Pretence or Cause.
