Hert. Hunt. &c. Highways Bill.

The Earl of Sandwich reported, "That the Committee for the Bill concerning repairing the Highways within the Counties of Hertford, Cambridge, and Huntingdon, have taken the same into Consideration and made some Alterations and Amendments, which are offered to the Consideration of this House."

The said Alterations and Amendments were read Twice.

And the Question being put, "Whether this Bill, with these Amendments, shall be read?"

It was Resolved in the Affirmative.

Hodie 3a vice lecta est Billa, "An Act for repairing the Highways within the Counties of Hertford, Cambridge, and Huntingdon."

The Question being put, "Whether this Bill, with the Alterations and Amendments now read, shall pass?"

It was Resolved in the Affirmative.

Hodie 2a vice lecta est Billa, "An Act for supplying the Loss of certain Evidences in the Time of the late Troubles, belonging to the Estate of Richard Lord Byron."

Message to H. C. with the Hert. Hunt. &c. Highways Bill.

A Message was sent to the House of Commons, by Sir Thomas Bird and Sir William Glascocke:

To return them the Bill for repairing the Highways within the Counties of Hertford, Cambridge, and Huntingdon, wherein the Lords have made some Alterations and Amendments, and to desire Concurrence therein.

ORDERED, That the Committee appointed to consider of putting into Execution the Bill against the Stoppage in the Streets do meet To-morrow in the Afternoon.

Cooke & al. for arresting Chamberlen, L. Holles's Servant.

This Day George Cooke, Danyell Higgeson, John Kempe, John Kendall, and Hugh Whight, who were formerly accused and sent for as Delinquents, for arresting of Thomas Chamberlin, a menial Servant of the Lord Holles, were brought to the Bar, as Delinquents.

And the Information declaring their Offences being read to them, they were asked, "What they could say for themselves?" The said George Cooke confessed, That he took Bonds of the said Chamberlain, but hath returned them." And Danyell Higgenson confessed, He arrested him without any Writ, but had one afterwards." The rest denied the Charge.

Hereupon it is ORDERED, That the said Cooke, Higgeson, Kempe, Kendall, and Whight, shall remain in the same Custody they are now, until this House shall give further Order herein.

Rownd for arresting Herbert the E. of Midd's Serv.

After this, Thomas Rownd, who arrested Danyell Herbert; menial Servant to the Earl of Midd. was brought to the Bar, as a Delinquent; and, upon the Desire and Mediation of his Lordship, he was released from his present Restraint, with a Reprehension and Admonition by the Lord Chancellor, not to commit the like Offence for the future.

Adjourn.
