Message from the King, concerning the E. of Mulgrave having his Writ of Summons under Age.
The Lord Chamberlain acquainted the House, "That
he had a Message from the King, to deliver to their
Lordships; which was,
"His Majesty did not know that the Earl of Mulgrave
was much under Age; and therefore did grant him
his Writ of Summons to Parliament: And now,
having granted such a Writ unto him, His Majesty
desires that he may be admitted to sit in Parliament.
And His Majesty hath commanded his Lordship to
assure their Lordships, That He will be careful to
prevent any Inconveniencies of the like Nature that
may be for the future."
Committee to consider of it.
Upon receiving of this Message from His Majesty
concerning the Earl of Mulgrave, and Consideration
thereof:
It is ORDERED, That it is referred to the Committee
of Privileges, to consider of this whole Business, and
report their Opinions, what they think fit to be done
thereupon; and their Lordships to meet this Afternoon,
at Three of the Clock for that Purpose.
