Standing Orders.

ORDERED, That the Standing Orders of this House shall be read on Saturday Morning next.

The Duke of Richmond, the Lord Steward, Earl of Essex, Earl of Anglesey, the Lord Viscount Say & Seale, and the Lord Ashley, are added to the Committee for Privileges and the Committee for Petitions.

Dr. Brunsell, a Proctor in the Convocation, arrested by Ash.

Upon reading the humble Petition of Henry Brunsell Clerk, and Prebendary of Ely, a Proctor of the said Church in the Convocation of the Clergy; shewing, That Thomas Ash, of Balborough, in the County of Derby, an Attorney at Law, and others, have sued and arrested the said Henry Brunsell, and caused him to be imprisoned in the Gaol at Nottingham, within the Time of Privilege of Parliament (contrary to the Privilege granted to the Members of the said Convocation by the Statute in that Behalf made, in the 8th Year of King Henry the Sixth), to the great Damage of the said Henry Brunsell:"

Ash sent for.

It is thereupon ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the said Thomas Ash be, and is hereby, required to appear at the Bar of this House on Wednesday next, at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon, to answer the said Offences; and hereof he may not fail.

Dr. Brunsell released.

Upon reading the humble Petition of Henry Brunsell Clerk, and Prebendary of Ely, a Proctor for the said Church in the Convocation of the Clergy, who this Day was brought to the Bar of this House, in the Custody of the Sheriff of Nottingham, or his Deputy; it appearing that he the said Henry Brunsell was arrested, and imprisoned in the Gaol of Nottingham, upon a Suit prosecuted by Thomas Ash, of Balbarough, in the County of Derby, an Attorney at Law, within the Time of Privilege granted to the Members of the said Convocation by the Statute of the 8th Year of King Henry the Sixth in that Behalf made and provided:

It is thereupon ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the said Henry Brunsell be, and is hereby, discharged from his present Restraint and Imprisonment by reason of the said Prosecution: And this Order shall be a sufficient Warrant in that Behalf.

Adjourn.
