PRAYERS.

L. Byron versus Sir W Juxon; Privilege.

The Order made on Saturday last, in the Cause between the Lord Byron and Sir William Juxon, was read, according to the usual Custom. And there being some Objection about the latter Clause;

The Question being put, "Whether the last Clause in this Order shall stand?"

The Speaker, after the Tellers had reported what the Contents and Not-contents were, declared what they said.

Whereupon divers Lords demanded their Proxies.

Proxies allowed, after the Numbers on a Division were given in.

Upon which, it was debated, whether Proxies should be admitted after the Speaker had declared the Contents and Not-contents.

And, after Debate thereof, it was moved, "That the Question should be put, "Whether the Proxies should be now read ?"

And the Question being put, "Whether this Question shall be now put?"

It was Resolved in the Affirmative.

Then the Question being put, "Whether the Proxies should be now read ?"

It was Resolved in the Affirmative.

The Difference of the Proxies was declared by the Speaker to be for the Negative.

Then another Question being put, "Whether the aforesaid Order, as it is now read without the last Clause, shall stand?"

It was Resolved in the Affirmative.

Message from H. C. for a Conference on the Bill against maiming, &c.

A Message was brought from the House of Commons, by Sir Thomas Lea and others:

To desire a Free Conference, upon the Subjectmatter of the last Conference.

The Answer returned was:

Answer.

That this House will give a Free Conference, as is desired; and appoints the same to be presently, in the Painted Chamber.

Message from thence, to return Hall's and Fitzjames's Bills.

Another Message was brought from the House of Commons, by Mr. Grey, &c.

To return Two Bills, which their Lordships sent down with some Amendments; to which Amendments the Commons do agree:

One Bill was for an Exchange and Sale of Lands, for Payment of the Debts of Benedict Hall Esquire.

The other Bill was to enable the Daughters and Coheirs of Sir John Fitzjames to sell Land, for Payment of his Debts.

The House to be called.

ORDERED, That this House shall be called on Friday the Tenth of this Instant February; on which Day this House will take into Consideration the Bill concerning Privilege of Parliament.

These Lords following were appointed to be Managers and Reporters of the Free Conference with the House of Commons:

The Lords went to the Free Conference.
