Houghton's Bill.

Hodie 2a vice lecta est Billa, "An Act to enable the Executors of Rob't Houghton Esquire and others to sell Lands, for Payment of Debts, according to Decree."

ORDERED, That this Bill is committed to the same Committee as the Bill for settling Intestates Estates is.

Bill for Relief of poor Prisoners for Debt.

The Earl of North'ton reported, "That the Committee have considered the Business referred to them concerning Relief of poor Prisoners; and they find no Way so fit as a Bill, which the Committee have prepared for that Purpose, and offer the same to the Consideration of this House."

Complaint of a Libel:

The Earl of Winchilsea acquainted the House, "That he hath met with a Paper abroad, published as a Libel, being derogatory to the Honour of His Majesty and His Government."

The said Paper was read; and, upon Consideration thereof, this House declared, That this Paper is a false and seditious Libel.

To be burnt:

ORDERED, That this Paper be burnt by the Hand of the Hangman.

Committee to examine who was the Publisher.

ORDERED, That a Committee be appointed, to consider and examine who was the Publisher of this Libel.

For this Purpose, these Lords following were appointed as a Committee:

Oldsworth's Bill.

Upon reading the Petition of William Oldsworth, Administrator (with the Will annexed) of the Goods and Estate of John Wood, being an Appeal from a Dismission of the Bill of the said John Wood out of the Court of Chancery, in the 22th Year of the Reign of His late Majesty King Charles the First, concerning some Estate late of John Lamott deceased:

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the said Petition of the said William Oldsworth be, and is hereby, referred to the Lords Committees appointed to receive and consider of Petitions; whose Lordships having considered of the same, and of the Time of the Date of the Decree therein mentioned, are afterwards to make Report thereof unto the House.

Ly Wortley versus Sir R. Vyner & al.

Upon reading the Answer of Edmond Staresmore Gentleman and Sir Rob't Vyner Baronet, to the Appeal of Dame Frances Wortley Widow, now depending in this House:

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That Counsel shall be heard, at the Bar of this House, on both Parts, upon the said Appeal and Answer, on Monday the Twentyseventh Day of March Instant, at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon.

Sir G. Prettyman's Pet. against Houghton's Bill.

ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the Petition of Sir George Prettyman Knight, and Elizabeth his Wife, presented to the House this Day, upon the Second Reading of a Bill, intituled, "An Act to enable the Executors of Robert Houghton Esquire to sell Lands, for Payment of his Debts, according to a Decree," is hereby referred to the Consideration of the Lords Committees to whom the said Bill stands committed, where the Petitioners are to be heard, before the said Bill be reported to this House.
