Message to H. C. with Two Bills.

A Message was sent to the House of Commons, by Sir Samuell Clerk and Sir Miles Cooke; to deliver these Bills, and desire their Consent to them:

The Bill for Prevention of Frauds and Perjuries.

The Bill for Explanation of an Act for preventing the Dangers which may happen from Popish Recusants.

Hodie 2^a vice lecta est Billa, "An Act for naturalizing of Mrs. Alice Rushout, Daughter of Sir James Rushout Baronet."

ORDERED, That the Consideration of this Bill is referred to these Lords following:

Their Lordships, or any Five of them; to meet To-morrow Morning, at Nine of the Clock, in the Prince's Lodgings; and to adjourn themselves as they please; and have Power to add such other Persons as they shall think fit.

ORDERED, That the Consideration of this Bill is committed to the same Committee as the Bill for Mrs. Rushout is.

Libels, concerning the last Prorogation of this Parliament, ordered to be burnt.

This Day being appointed to read the Three Pamphlets reported from the Committee for inquiring after the Authors of Libels, which the Committee found to be seditious and scandalous, and desired the House to give their Judgement on them; the House caused these following to be read:

1. That Book intituled, Some Considerations upon the Question, whether the Parliament be dissolved upon its Prorogation for Fifteene Monthes.

And, after Consideration had thereof, it is ORDERED, That this House agrees with the Committee, that this Book is a seditious and scandalous Book; and this House declares some Clauses therein to be treasonable; and doth order and adjudge that the said Book be burned, by the Hand of the Common Hangman, in The Old Palace Yard in Westminster, and at The Royall Exchange in London.

Another Book, intituled, The Long Parliament dissolved, was read.

And, after Consideration, it is ORDERED, That this House agrees with the Committee, that this Book is a seditious and scandalous Book; and it is ORDERED and Adjudged, That the said Book be burned, by the Hand of the Common Hangman, in The Old Palace Yard in Westm. and at The Royall Exchange in London.

ORDERED, That the Third Book be read To-morrow Morning; and after that, this House shall be put into a Committee, to proceed in the Consideration of the Bill for the further securing the Protestant Religion.

L. Widdrington's Writ of Summons and Proxy.

This Day the Writ of Summons to Parliament of William Widdrington Chevalier, dated the 13th of February, A° Regis Caroli Secundi 29°, was delivered into the House by the Duke of Newcastle, whom he made his Proxy.

Villiers' Claim to the Title of Viscount Purbeck.

Whereas, upon the reading of the Petition of the Person who pretends to the Title of Viscount Purbeck, praying, "That this House would proceed to the Determination thereof;" the Earl of Denbigh desired Leave till this Day to speak with the Duke of Bucks, in order to putting in an Answer to the said Pretence; and his Lordship now letting the House know, "That the Duke of Bucks humbly desires that, in regard he is concerned with the Earl of Denbigh therein, no further Proceedings may be had upon the said Pretence, till he may be so happy as to be at Liberty to attend this House:"

It is thereupon ORDERED, That there shall be no further Proceedings upon the said Pretence till further Order of this House.
