Upon reading the Petition of Lawrence Maule and others, several Tenants of divers Messuages and Lands within the Manor of Notgrove, in the County of Gloucester; praying, "That they may have Leave to bring in a Bill to this House:"

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That they have hereby Leave given them, for bringing in a Bill, as is desired.

Hampton & al. versus Salmon.

Upon reading the Petition of Anne Hampton alias Lewis, John Williams, Richard Owin, Owin Edward, Jenkin Owin, Jane Verich and Hugh Prees; shewing, That John Salmon brought a Writ of Error into this House, the Second Day of October last; and praying that a short Day may be appointed to hear the Errors assigned thereupon to be argued by Counsel at the Bar:"

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That this House will hear the said Errors argued, by Counsel on both Sides, at the Bar, on Monday the First Day of December next, at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon.

Cecil & al. versus E. of Salisbury, Waiver of Privilege.

Upon reading the Petition of Robert Cecill Esquire, and other the Younger Children of James Earl of Salisbury, deceased; praying, "That James now Earl of Salisbury may not be permitted to insist upon his Privilege in Causes depending in Chancery mentioned in the said Petition, he having once waved his Privilege when it was for his Advantage, and now takes it up again when he perceives the Causes are likely to go against him:"

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the said James Earl of Salisbury may have a Copy of the said Petition; and he shall be heard, by his Counsel, at the Bar (as also Counsel for the Petitioners), on Monday next, at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon.

Cecil's Witnesses.

ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That Doctor John Tillotson, Doctor John Mapletoft, Ebenezar Sadler, Tovey, John Fisher, Thomas Allam, and Charles Browne, do attend this House on Monday next, at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon, to be sworn, as Witnesses on the Behalf of Robert Cecill Esquire, and other the Younger Children of James Earl of Salisbury deceased.

Quakers Scruples in Method of Swearing, Bill concerning.

The House was adjourned during Pleasure, and put into a Committee, upon the Bill, intituled, "An Act to prevent Obstructions of Justice, and other Inconveniencies, occasioned by many Protestant Subjects scrupling to swear in the Form and Manner now used."

The House was resumed.

And the Lord North reported, "The Committee had made some further Progress in the said Bill, and desired that another Day might be appointed for the House to be put into a Committee again upon the said Bill."

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the House shall be put into a Committee again upon the said Bill, on Saturday next, at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon, the First Business.

Jones & al. versus Regem.

Upon hearing Counsel this Day at the Bar, upon the Petition of Gaynor Jones Widow, and William Crosse, being an Appeal from a Decree made in the Court of Exchequer, in Trinity Terme, 1688; and a Decree upon a Bill of Review thereof in Easter Terme last against them, at the Prosecution of Mr. Attorney General; as also upon the Answer of Sir. Geo. Treby Knight, Their Majesties Attorney General, Defendant to the said Petition, put in thereunto:

After due Consideration had of what was offered by Counsel on either Side thereupon, It is ORDERED and Adjudged, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the said Petition and Appeal of Gaynor Jones and William Crosse be, and is hereby, dismissed this House; and that the Decrees made in the Court of Exchequer, from which they appealed to this House, be, and are hereby, affirmed.

Adjourn.
