Land Tax Bill.

The House was adjourned during Pleasure, and put into a Committee upon the Bill, intituled, "An Act for granting to His Majesty an Aid of Four Shillings in the Pound, for One Year, for carrying on the War against France."

After some Time spent therein, the House was resumed.

And the Earl of Bridgewater reported, "That the Committee had gone through the said Bill; and think it fit to pass, without any Amendment."

A Message from the House of Commons, by Sir John Lowther and others:

Who brought up a Bill, intituled, "An Act for Relief of poor Prisoners for Debt or Damages."

ORDERED, That the said Bill be read To-morrow Morning, the First Business.

Admiralty Papers, Report concerning.

Upon Report made this Day from the Lords Committees, appointed to consider of some Papers delivered into this House by the Commissioners of the Admiralty, the Seven and Twentieth of December last, so far as to what relates to the Lord Keviton:

Resolution, approving of L. Keveton's Behaviour at Sea.

The House came to the following Resolution: (videlicet,)

"Resolved, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the Lord Keviton hath behaved himself, in the last Summer's Expedition at Sea, with Courage, Conduct, and Fidelity."

Jenkinson et al. to attend Committee for Admiralty Papers, and protected.

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That William Jenkinson, John King, William Rolles, George Renton, William Simmons, William Henley, Jarat Morice, Jonathan Jackson, George Peyton, Thomas Holson, Abraham Huddnot, Robert Lewis, Peter Molton, and James Vahan, (who were this Day sworn, in order to attend the Lords Committees appointed to consider of some Papers received from the Commissioners of the Admiralty) have hereby the Protection of this House from being imprest, in order to their attending the said Committee.

East India Trade.

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That this House shall be put into a Committee, on Tuesday the Eleventh Day of this Instant February, at Eleven of the Clock in the Forenoon, to consider further of the East India Trade, and their Charters now before this House.

Adjourn.
