Bp. of Chichester's Bill:

Hodie 3a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act to enable John Lord Bishop of Chichester to make Leases of certain Houses and Grounds belonging to the Bishopric of Chichester, situate in Chancery Lane, for a competent Number of Years."

The Question was put, "Whether this Bill shall pass?"

It was Resolved in the Affirmative.

Message to H. C. with it.

A Message was sent to the House of Commons, by Sir Miles Cooke and Sir Richard Holford:

To carry down the said Bill, and desire their Concurrence thereunto.

Message from thence, to return Kinnersley's Bill.

A Message was brought from the House of Commons, by Mr. Gery and others:

To return the Bill, intituled, "An Act to enable Thomas Kynnersly Esquire, an Infant, to make a Jointure and Settlement of his Estate;" to which they have agreed, without any Amendment,

Knot's Bill.

The Earl of Rochester reported from the Committee the Bill, intituled, "An Act to enable the Trustees of William Knot Gentleman and his Wife to sell a Lease of Houses in Breadstreet, London, for Payment of Debts; and to settle another Estate, of better Value, in Lieu thereof," as fit to pass, without any Amendment.

Atheism, &c. to suppress, Bill.

Hodie 2a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act for the more effectual suppressing of Atheism, Blasphemy, and Profaneness."

ORDERED, That the said Bill be committed to a Committee of the whole House, presently.

Then the House was adjourned during Pleasure, and put into a Committee upon the said Bill.

After some Time, the House was resumed.

And the Lord Bishop of London reported, "That the Committee had gone through the said Bill; and think it fit to pass, with some Amendments."

Which, being read Twice, were agreed to; and the Bill ordered to be engrossed, with the said Amendments.

Bertie versus L. Faulkland.

Whereas Sir William Whitlock and John Grout, Trustees of the Will of John Cary Esquire, were, by Order of the Seventh Instant, to put in their Answer to the Petition and Appeal of James Bertie Esquire and Elizabeth his Wife; which they have not yet done:

It is thereupon ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the said Sir William Whitlock and John Grout do peremptorily answer thereunto, on Tuesday next, at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon.

Brown versus Bradford.

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That this House will hear the Cause wherein Humphry Browne is Appellant, and Richard Bradford Respondent, on Wednesday the Second Day of March next, at Eleven of the Clock; and that Mr. Justice Powell do then attend this House.

Bone Lace, &c. to prevent Importation of, Bill.

The House was adjourned during Pleasure, and put into a Committee upon the Bill, intituled, "An Act for rendering the Laws more effectual for preventing the Importation of Foreign Bone Lace, Loom Lace, Needle-work, Point, and Cut-work."

After some Time spent therein, the House was resumed.

And the Earl of Bridgewater reported, "That the Committee had gone through the said Bill; and think it fit to pass, without any Amendment."

To which the House agreed.

Arbitration Bill.

Hodie 1a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act for determining Differences by Arbitration."

The Lord Chief Justice of His Majesty's Court of King's Bench, in the usual Manner, brought up Five Writs of Error; (videlicet,)
