Colchester Channel, for cleansing, Bill.

The Commons Amendment made to the Lords Amendment to the Bill, intituled, "An Act for cleansing and making navigable the Channel from The Heith at Colchester to Wivenhoo," was read, and agreed to.

ORDERED, That the Commons have Notice thereof.

Officers of Excise, Bill to give Time to qualify.

Hodie 1^a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act for giving Time to several Commissioners of Excise therein named, and their Officers, to qualify themselves for their Employments in the Duties on Leather."

ORDERED, That the said Bill be read the Second Time on Tuesday next, at Eleven of the Clock; and that the Judges be summoned to attend.

Exeter Workhouses, &c. Bill.

The Earl of Stamford reported from the Committee, the Bill, intituled, "An Act for erecting Hospitals and Work-houses within the City and County of the City of Exon, for the better employing and maintaining the Poor there," as fit to pass, without any Amendment.

Whitborne, to annex to the Bishopric of Hereford, Bill.

Then the Amendments made by the Commons to the Bill, intituled, "An Act to annex the Rectory of Whitborne in Herefordsh'r to the Bishopric of Hereford," were read Thrice, and agreed to.

ORDERED, That the Commons have Notice thereof.

Sir E. Turner's Bill:

Hodie 3^a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act for supplying a Defect in a Conveyance lately made by Sir Edward Turnor and Charles Turnor Esquire his Son, for the more effectual securing the Sum of Twelve Thousand Pounds, and Interest, upon their Estate."

The Question was put, "Whether this Bill, with the Amendment, shall pass?"

It was Resolved in the Affirmative.

Message to H. C. with an Amendment to it.

A Message was sent to the House of Commons, by Sir Miles Cooke and Sir Richard Holford:

To return the said Bill, and desire their Concurrence to the Amendment.

Colchester Work-houses, &c. Bill.

The Earl of Stamford reported from the Committee, the Bill, intituled, "An Act for erecting Hospitals and Work-houses within the Town of Colchester, in the County of Essex, for the better employing and maintaining the Poor thereof," as fit to pass, with some Amendments and Provisos.

To which the House agreed; and ORDERED, That the Provisos be engrossed.

Winchcomb versus King & al.

Upon reading the Petition of Hellen King and others, Respondents to the Appeal of Sir Henry Winchcomb Baronet; praying, "That a Day may be appointed for hearing of the said Appeal:"

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That this House will hear Counsel thereupon, on Wednesday the Eleventh Day of this Instant May, at Eleven of the Clock; and that the Appellant do enter into a Recognizance in the mean Time.

Deye & al. versus Thwaites.

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That this House will hear Counsel, upon the Petition of John Deye and others, and the Petition and Answer of Dorothy Thwaytes put in thereunto, on Friday the Thirteenth Day of this Instant May, at Eleven of the Clock in the Forenoon.

Hereford Work-houses, &c. Bill.

The Lord Chandos reported from the Committee, the Bill, intituled, "An Act for erecting of Hospitals and Work-houses within the City of Hereford, for the better employing and maintaining the Poor there," as fit to pass, with some Amendments.

Which were read Twice, and agreed to.

Hawkes's Bill.

Hodie 2^a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act to enable John Hawkes Gentleman to sell Lands, in the County of Salop, for Payment of his Debts."

ORDERED, That the Consideration of the said Bill be committed to the Lords following; (videlicet,)

Their Lordships, or any Five of them; to meet on Wednesday the Eighteenth Day of this Instant May, at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon, in the Prince's Lodgings near the House of Peers; and to adjourn as they please.

Ettrick's Bill rejected.

After hearing Counsel and Witnesses, for and against the Bill, intituled, "An Act for vesting in Trustees certain Lands, Parcel of the Estate of Jane late Wife of Anthony Ettrick Gentleman, to be sold, for Payment of Debts, and for making a Provision for Elizabeth their Daughter, an Infant, and Heir to her said Mother:"

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the said Bill shall be, and is hereby, rejected.
