Distillers Witnesses against the Bill to prevent distilling from Corn:

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That John Greene, John Day, John Knight, Thomas Dent, Thomas Plested, John Hall, and Samuel Rush, do attend this House, as Witnesses, on the Behalf of the Distillers of London, on Tuesday the Fourteenth Day of this Instant February, at Eleven of the Clock in the Forenoon.

Bennet to be heard against it.

Upon reading the Petition of Charles Bennet Distiller; praying, That he may be heard, by his Counsel, what he hath to offer, relating to the Bill, intituled, An Act to prohibit the excessive distilling of Spirits and low Wines from Corn, and against the exporting of Beer and Ale; and to prevent Frauds in Distillers:"

Fitch versus Att. General and Commissioners of the Navy.

The Lord Chancellor reported what was offered Yesterday, by Counsel, upon the Appeal of John Fitch Esquire, and the Answer of the Attorney General and Commissioners of the Navy put in thereunto.

After Debate;

This Question was proposed, "Whether the Petition of Appeal shall be dismissed?"

Then the previous Question was put, "Whether this Question shall be now put?"

It was Resolved in the Negative.

ORDERED, That the further Debate upon the Petition of John Fitch, and the Answer of the Attorney General and Commissioners of the Navy, shall be resumed To-morrow, at Eleven of the Clock.
