Message from H. C. to return the Bill for attainting Persons concerned in the late Conspiracy.

A Message was brought from the House of Commons, by Mr. Solicitor and others:

To return the Bill, intituled, "An Act to attaint such of the Persons concerned in the late horrid Conspiracy to assassinate His Majesty's Royal Person, who are fled from Justice, unless they render themselves to Justice; and for continuing several other of the said Conspirators in Custody;" and to acquaint this House, that they have agreed to their Lordships Amendments made to the said Bill.

De Rhede L, Aghram, & al. Nat. Bill:

The Earl of Bridgewater reported from the Committee, the Bill, intituled, "An Act for naturalizing Frederick Christiaen de Rhede, commonly Lord Aghram, and others," as fit to pass, without any Amendment.

Hodie 3a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act for naturalizing Frederick Christiaen de Rhede, commonly called Lord Aghram, and others."

The Question was put, "Whether this Bill shall pass ?"

It was Resolved in the Affirmative.

Message to H. C. that the Lords agree to it.

A Message was sent to the House of Commons, by Sir Miles Cook and Sir Robert Legard:

To let the Commons know, the Lords have agreed to the said Bill, without any Amendment.

Neve's Bill.

Hodie 1a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act for enabling Oliver Neve, of Great Witchingham, in the County of Norfolke, Esquire, to sell Two Houses in London; and for vesting other Lands in the said County, of greater Value, to the same Uses."

Sir Ralph Ashton's Bill.

The Earl of Bridgewater reported from the Committee, the Bill, intituled, "An Act to enable Sir Ralph Ashton Baronet to supply an Omission of a Limitation intended in his Marriage Settlement, for the Benefit of his Issue Male," as fit to pass, with One Amendment.

Which, being read Twice; was agreed to; and the said Bill ordered to be engrossed.

No Person to be admitted when the King is present.

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That, when His Majesty shall please to be present in this House, no Men shall come in but those who have a Right to be admitted; and that no Person whatsoever be then suffered to stand upon the Throne, but those who bear the Regalia, and support His Majesty's Train.

King present.

His Majesty, being arrayed in His Regal Robes and Crown, attended with His Officers of State, ascended His Royal Throne (the Peers being also in their Robes); commanded the Gentleman Usher of the Black Rod to signify to the Commons, "It is His Majesty's Pleasure, they attend Him presently."

Who being come, with their Speaker; the Clerk Assistant read the Titles of the Bills following; (videlicet,)

Bills passed.

"1. An Act to attaint Sir John Fenwick Baronet of High Treason."

"2. An Act to attaint such of the Persons concerned in the late horrid Conspiracy to assassinate His Majesty's Royal Person, who are sled from Justice, unless they render themselves to Justice; and for continuing several other of the said Conspirators in Custody."

To which Bills the Royal Assent was pronounced, by the Clerk of the Parliaments, in these Words, (videlicet,)

"Le Roy le veult."

In like Manner the Bills following were passed; (videlicet,)

"3. An Act for naturalizing Frederick Christiean de Rhede, commonly called Lord Aghram, and others."

"4. An Act for the Settlement of the Manor of Treyagoe, in the County of Hereford, and other the Lands late of Crompton Mynors Esquire deceased; and for raising and increasing of the Portion of Theodosia Mynors, the Daughter of the said Crompton, the being an Infant of the Age of Seventeen Years."

To which Bill the Royal Assent was pronounced in these Words, (videlicet,)

"Soit fait come il est desiré."

Then His Majesty was pleased to withdraw; and the Commons went to their House.

Smith, Under-sheriff of Middlesex, to be issued from Suits against him, for discharging Weekes, protected by L. Morley.

Upon reading the Petition of John Smith Gentleman, Under-sheriff of Middl'x; shewing, "That, about May last, he made out a Warrant on a Writ against one Abell Weekes, at the Suit, of James Reyne, for Five Hundred Pounds, and a Bailiff arrested him; and he producing a Protection from the Lord Morley & Mounteagle, entered and certified in Form, whereupon he was discharged; and Mr. Low the Plaintiff's Attorney was acquainted therewith; and yet he proceeds to go on with Amerciaments against the Sheriff; and praying that the Plaintiff and his Attorney may be ordered to discharge the Amerciaments against the said Sheriff, and to forbear all further Proceedings:"

Revne to attend:

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the said James Reyne shall, and he is hereby required, to attend this House on Wednesday next, at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon.

And Low attached.

Upon Oath made, at the Bar of this House, "That Mr. Low, Attorney at Law, hath gone on with Amerciaments against the Sheriff of Middl'x for not detaining Abell Weeks, the Lord Morley & Monteagle's Servant:"

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the Serjeant at Arms attending this House, his Deputy or Deputies, do forthwith attach the Body of the said Mr. Low, and bring him in safe Custody to the Bar of this House; and this shall be a sufficient Warrant on that Behalf.

To the Serjeant at Arms attending this House, his Deputy or Deputies, and every of them.

Sir W. Trumbull to send Smith's Papers:

The House being informed, by Mr. Mathew Smith, "That he had deposited his Papers in the Hands of Sir William Trumbull Principal Secretary of State, sealed up with his the said Smith's own Seal:"

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the said Smith's Papers so sealed up, be laid before this House Tomorrow, at Eleven of the Clock in the Forenoon.

Message to H. C. for Mr. Vernon to attend, about Informations against Conspirators:

A Message was sent to the House of Commons, by Sir Richard Holford and Mr. Pitts:

To desire that they will give Leave to Mr. Vernon, a Member of their House, to attend their Lordships, to be examined concerning some Informations given to this House, relating to the Discovery in February last, of the horrid Conspiracy against His Majesty's Person.

D. of Norfolk to attend:

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That his Grace the Duke of Norfolke be desired to attend this House To-morrow, at Eleven of the Clock.

Harcourt to attend:

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That Mr. Symon Harcourt do attend this House on Wednesday next, at Eleven of the Clock.

Smith discharged.

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That Mr. Mathew Smith, now in Custody of the Serjeant at Arms attending this House, shall be, and he is hereby, discharged, without any Fees; and this shall be a sufficient Warrant on that Behalf.

Rex versus Walcot. in Error.

Whereas To-morrow was appointed to hear the Errors argued upon the Writ of Error depending in this House, wherein His Majesty by His Attorney General is Plaintiff, and John Walcot Son of Thomas Walcot Defendant:

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That this House will hear the said Errors argued, by Counsel, at the Bar, on Tuesday the Nineteenth Day of this Instant January, at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon.

Winchester versus Fowke.

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That this House will hear Counsel, upon the Petition of Henry Winchester and Ann his Wife, and the Answer of Elizabeth Fowke put in thereunto, on Wednesday the Twentieth Day of this Instant January, at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon.

Privilege Bill and Protection Book.

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That, on Saturday next, this House shall be put into a Committee, on the Bill, intituled, "An Act for the greater Ease of the Subject in recovering their just Debts."

And before the Committee sits, this House will take into Consideration the Book of Protections.

Ly. Mary Fenwick's Papers.

The House this Day having heard Mr. Mathew Smith, upon Oath, in relation to some Papers delivered into this House by the Lady Mary Fenwick, the Two and Twentieth of December last:

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the further Consideration of the Matter contained in the said Papers shall be resumed on Wednesday next, at Eleven of the Clock.
