REX.
Domini tam Spirituales quam Temporales præsentes fuerunt:
King present.
His Majesty, being arrayed in His Regal Robes and Crown, attended with His Officers of State, ascended His Royal Throne (the Peers being also in their Robes); commanded the Gentleman Usher of the Black Rod to signify to the House of Commons, "It is His Majesty's Pleasure, that they attend Him presently."
Who being come; the Lord Keeper, by His Majesty's Command, said,
Commons directed to choose a Speaker.
"My Lords and Gentlemen,
"I am commanded by His Majesty to let you know, that He will defer declaring the Causes of calling this Parliament, till there be a Speaker of the House of Commons.
"Therefore it is His Majesty's Pleasure, that the Gentlemen of the House of Commons repair to the usual Place where the Commons sit, and proceed to the Choice of a fit Person to be their Speaker, and present him here to His Majesty, for His Royal Approbation, To-morrow, at Twelve of the Clock."
Then, His Majesty was pleased to withdraw; and the Commons went to their House.

Their Lordships, or any Seven of them; to meet on Monday next, at Four of the Clock in the Afternoon, in the House of Peers; and every Monday after; and to adjourn as they please.
