The Earl of Warrington reported from the Lords Committees, the Bill, intituled, "An Act to enable Sir Edward Williams to sell certain Manors and Lands, in the Counties of Brecon and Radnor, for Payment of Debts," as fit to pass, without any Amendment.

Forster's Bill.

Upon reading the Petition of Thomas Forster; praying to be heard to the above-mentioned Bill, before the passing thereof:

Whereupon it was ORDERED, That the said Bill be re-committed to the Committee to which the same was referred; who are to meet on Saturday next, in the Prince's Lodgings.

Ld. Wharton versus Squire & al.

Upon reading this Day, the Answer of the Right Honourable Thomas Lord Wharton, put in to the Petition of Robert Squire Esquire and John Thompson Gentleman, in Relation to an Appeal brought in by the Lord Wharton:

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That this House will hear One Counsel on either Side, To-morrow, at Eleven a Clock, upon the said Answer and Petition.

ORDERED, That the Consideration of the said Bill be referred to the Lords Committees above-named; who are to meet at the same Time and Place.

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That, after this Day, this House will receive no more Petitions of Appeals this Session of Parliament.

It being proposed, "To call in the Cause appointed to be heard this Day; and also to go into a Committee upon the Bill, intituled, An Act for the better preventing Escapes out of The Queen's Bench and Fleet Prisons;"

And Debate thereupon:

The Question was put, "Whether this House shall now hear the Cause?"

It was Resolved in the Affirmative.

Prisons, to prevent Escapes from, Bill.

ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That this House shall be put into a Committee upon the Bill, intituled, "An Act for the better preventing Escapes out of The Queen's Bench and Fleet Prisons," on Saturday next, at Eleven a Clock; and no other Business to intervene; and that the Judges do then attend.

Haberdashers Company versus Attorney General & al.:

After hearing Counsel, upon the Petition and Appeal of the Master and Four Wardens of the Company of Haberdashers, London, from an Order of the Court of Chancery, the Thirteenth Day of December 1701, on the Behalf of Her Majesty's Attorney General, at the Relation as well of the Inhabitants of the Parish of Newland, in the County of Gloucester, as the Poor of the Hospital or Almshouse there, founded by William Jones, deceased, and Humphry Jorden; and praying the Reversal of the said Order, and the Petitioners relieved, touching the Taxes, Repairs, Almshouses, and Costs, as in the Appeal is set forth: As also upon the Answer of Her Majesty's Attorney General, at the Relation as well of the Inhabitants of the Parish of Newland, in the County of Gloucester, as the Poor of the Hospital or Almshouse there, founded by Mr. Jones deceased, and Humphry Jorden; and due Consideration of what was offered thereupon:

Judgement affirmed, with Costs.

It is ORDERED, and Adjudged, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the said Petition and Appeal of the Master and Four Wardens of the Haberdashers Company, London, shall be, and is hereby, dismissed this House; and that the Order therein complained of shall be, and is hereby, affirmed: And it is further ORDERED, That the Appellants, the Master and Four Wardens of the Haberdashers Company, shall pay, or cause to be paid, unto the Respondents, or their Agent, the Sum of Ten Pounds, for their Costs, in defending the said Appeal in this House.

Adjourn.
