The Earl of Rochester reported from the Lords Committees, the Bill, intituled, "An Act for enabling James Duke of Ormonde and Charles Earl of Arran to settle Fee-farm Rents, in the County of Tipperary, in the Kingdom of Ireland, pursuant to an Agreement upon the Marriage of the said Earl of Arran," as fit to pass, with some Amendments.

Which were read Twice, and agreed to; and the Bill ordered to be engrossed, with the said Amendments.

Vorbes's Bill.

The Earl of Manchester reported from the Lords Committees, the Bill, intituled, "An Act for Sale of the Manor of Barwick Hall, and other Lands, in the County of Essex; and for purchasing other Lands, to be settled to the same Uses," as fit to pass, with some Amendments.

Which were read Twice, and agreed to; and the Amendments ordered to be engrossed.

Edwards's Bill.

Hodie 3a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act to enable John Edwards Gentleman to sell certain Lands in the County of Norfolke, for Payment of Debts."

The Question was put, "Whether this Bill shall pass?"

It was Resolved in the Affirmative.

Ordered, That the Commons have Notice, the Lords have agreed to the said Bill, without any Amendment.

A Message from the House of Commons, by Mr. Farrer and others:

Who brought up Two Bills; (videlicet,)

One, intituled, "An Act for the Relief of Noncommission Officers and Private Soldiers of the Lord Drogheda's and Colonel Coot's Regiments."

The other, intituled, "An Act to enable Trustees to sell several Houses and Lands in and near Portsmouth, late the Estate of Elizabeth Hicks, for Payment of a Debt and Interest charged thereupon; and for laying out the Residue of the Money in other Lands, to be settled to the same Uses."

To which said Two Bills, they desire the Concurrence of this House.

Greenall's Bill:

Hodie 3a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act to enable Robert Greenall the Younger to sell an Estate in the Parish of King's Norton, in the County of Worcester; and purchase another Estate, of as great or greater Value, to be settled to the same Uses."

The Question was put, "Whether this Bill shall pass?"

It was Resolved in the Negative.

Rejected.

Ordered, That the said Bill shall be, and is hereby, rejected.

Rice's Bill.

Hodie 1a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act for the Relief of Colonel John Rice."

Ordered, That the said Bill shall be read a Second Time on Monday next, at Twelve a Clock; and that the late Commissioners for stating the Accompts of the Army do then attend this House; and that the same Methods shall be taken in the passing all Bills of this Nature for the future.

Increase of Private Bills, considered.

The Order of the Day being read, for the House to be in a Committee, to consider of the best Means to prevent the Increase of Private Bills in Parliament, and the surprizing the House in their proceeding thereupon:

The House accordingly was adjourned during Pleasure, and put into a Committee thereupon.

After some Time, the House was resumed.

And the Lord Herbert reported, "That the Committee had come to some Resolutions; which he is ready to report, when the House think fit."

Ordered, That the said Report be made To-morrow Morning.

Adjourn.
