The Lord Steward acquainted the House, "That pursuant to their Address of the Thirteenth Instant, Her Majesty had been pleased to direct him to lay before this House the Papers following; (videlicet,)

1. "Queen's Letter to the Parliament, 18th June 1705."

2. "Resolve of Parliament, 17th July 1705."

3. "Act for a Treaty with England."

4. "Order of Parliament, 4th September 1705."

5. "Address of the Parliament of Scotland to the Queen, 4th September 1705."

It is Ordered, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the Papers laid before this House, by Her Majesty's Command, relating to Scotland, shall be taken into Consideration on Friday next, at Twelve a Clock.

Chute's Bills.

Hodie 2^a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act for Sale of the Estate late of Thomas Chute Esquire, in the County of Warwick; and laying out the Monies arising thereby in the Purchase of other Lands and Hereditaments, in the County of Norfolk, to be settled to the same Uses as the Warwiksbire Estate stands settled."

Protestant Succession:

The Order of the Day being read;

The House was adjourned during Pleasure, and put into a Committee, to consider farther what may be fitting to be done, for the Preservation of Her Majesty's Person and Government, and the Protestant Succession as by Law established.

After some Time, the House was resumed.

And the Earl of Stamford reported, "That the Number of those to be named in the Act to be Lords Justices shall be Seven; (videlicet,)

"That the Lord Archbishop of Canterbury for the Time being shall be One.

"That the Lord Keeper or Lord Chancellor for the Time being shall be One.

"That the Lord High Treasurer of England for the Time being shall be One.

"That the Lord President of the Council for the Time being shall be One.

"That the Lord High Admiral of England for the Time being shall be One.

"That the Lord Privy Seal for the Time being shall be One.

"That the Lord Chief Justice of the Queen's Bench for the Time being shall be One.

"That the next Successor shall be empowered, by an Instrument under Hand and Seal, to name such Persons as She or He shall think fit to join with the other Seven Persons nominated in the Act in the Execution of the said Commission; and that, the Successor shall have Power to revoke or alter the said Instrument, from Time to Time, as She or He shall think sit.

"That there shall be Three Parts of this Instrument, One of which shall be lodged with the Minister of the Successor, another with the Lord Archbishop of Canterbury for the Time being, and the other with the Lord Chancellor or Lord Keeper of the Great Seal of England for the Time being."

Which, being read, were agreed to.

It is Ordered, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the Judges do prepare a Bill, in order to an Act, upon the Resolutions agreed to in the House Yesterday and this Day.

Protestant Succession.

Ordered, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That To-morrow, at Twelve a Clock, this House shall be put into a Committee again, to proceed in the Consideration of what may be fitting to be done, for the Preservation of Her Majesty's Person and Government, and the Protestant Succession as by Law established; and that the Judges do then attend.
