E. of Nottingham takes the Oaths.

This Day Daniel Earl of Nottingham took the Oaths, and made and subscribed the Declaration, and also took and subscribed the Oath of Abjuration, pursuant to the Statutes.

Election of Sixteen Peers of Scotland, Questions concerning.

The Order being read, for hearing Counsel and Witnesses to the Questions stated the Two and Twentieth Instant, in relation to the Election of the Sixteen Peers for Scotland:

It was agreed, to proceed on the First Question postponed on Wednesday last.

And, Counsel and Witnesses being heard thereunto, they withdrew.

And, after long Debate thereupon;

Peer who took the Oaths within the Castle of Edinburgh, qualified to vote at the Election.

The Question being put, "That a Peer of Scotland, who took the Oaths within the Castle of Edinburgh, was thereby qualified to give his Vote at the Election of the Sixteen Peers who are to represent the Peers of Scotland in Parliament?"

It was Resolved in the Affirmative.

"Resolved and Declared, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That a Peer of Scotland, who took the Oaths within the Castle of Edinburgh, was thereby qualified to give his Vote at the Election of the Sixteen Peers who are to represent the Peers of Scotland in Parliament."

Ordered, That this House will proceed to hear Counsel to the other Questions stated the Two and Twentieth Instant, in relation to the said Election, Tomorrow, at Twelve a Clock; and all the Lords summoned.

Adjourn.
