Message from H. C. to return Sir Tho. Putt's Bill, for Sale of Lands in Netherex, &c.

A Message was brought from the House of Commons, by Sir William Pole and others:

To return the Bill, intituled, "An Act for vesting several Lands, in Netherex, Rew, Silverton, and Thorverton, in the County of Devon, in Trustees, to be sold, for the Purposes therein mentioned;" and to acquaint this House, that they have agreed to the same, without any Amendment.

Payments on East India Goods, Bill.

Hodie 2a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act for better ascertaining and securing the Payments to be made to Her Majesty, for Goods and Merchandizes to be imported from The East Indies, and other Places within the Limits of the Charter granted to the East India Company."

Ordered, That the said Bill be committed to a Committee of the whole House, To-morrow, at Twelve a Clock.

Circuit Courts in Scotland, Bill.

Hodie 2a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act for the appointing the Circuit Courts, in that Part of Great Britain called Scotland, to be kept only Once in the Year."

Ordered, That the said Bill be committed to a Committee of the whole House, presently.

Then the House was adjourned during Pleasure, and put into a Committee thereupon.

And, after some Time spent therein, the House was resumed.

And the Earl of I'lay reported from the said Committee, "That they had gone through the Bill; and directed him to report the same to the House, without any Amendment."

Ordered, That the said Bill be engrossed.

Message from H. C. with a Bill.

A Message was brought from the House of Commons, by Mr. Pitt and others:

With a Bill, intituled, "An Act for continuing the Trade and Corporation-capacity of the United East India Company, although their Fund should be redeemed;" to which they desire the Concurrence of this House.

Protestation of the 28th May, to be expunged:

The Order being read, for taking into Consideration the Protestation entered in the Journal of this House the Twenty-eighth of May last:

The several Reasons for the said Protestation were read.

Then it was proposed, "That the First Reason be expunged."

And Debate thereupon;

The Question was put, "Whether the First Reason for the said Protestation shall be expunged?"

It was Resolved in the Affirmative.

Ordered, To be expunged.

Then, the Second Reason being read;

The Question was put, "Whether the Second Reason for the said Protestation shall be expunged?"

It was Resolved in the Affirmative.

Ordered, To be expunged.

Then, the Third Reason being read;

The Question was put, "Whether the Third Reason for the said Protestation shall be expunged?"

It was Resolved in the Affirmative.

Ordered, To be expunged.

Then, the Fourth and last Reason being read;

The Question was put, "Whether the Fourth Reason for the said Protestation shall be expunged?"

It was Resolved in the Affirmative.

Ordered, To be expunged.

Committee to inquire after the Printer of it.

Then the House was informed, "That the said Reasons are printed and published, contrary to a Standing Order of this House."

And a Motion being made, "That a Committee be appointed, to inquire who is the Printer and Publisher of the said Reasons; as also who directed and advised the printing thereof:"

The Lords following were appointed a Committee for that Purpose; whose Lordships have Power to send for Persons and Papers; and are to report to the House; (videlicet,)

The Question was put, "Whether the entire Entry of the Reasons for the said Protestation, on the Seventh Instant, shall be expunged?"

It was Resolved in the Affirmative.

Ordered, To be expunged.
