Lords take the Oaths.

The Lords following took the Oaths, and made and subscribed the Declaration, and also took and subscribed the Oath of Abjuration, pursuant to the Statutes:

Mortuaries St. Asaph, Bills Queen's Consent.

A Bill for taking away Mortuaries within the Diocese of St. Asaph, being offered to the House;

The Lord Viscount Bolingbroke acquainted the House, "That Her Majesty, having been applied to concerning it, was pleased to consent to the passing thereof."

Hodie 1a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act for taking away Mortuaries within the Diocese of St. Asaph, and giving a Recompence therefor to the Bishops of the said Diocese."

Brooke's Petition referred to Judges.

Upon reading the Petition of Robert Broke Esquire, on Behalf of his Younger Children; praying Leave to bring in a Bill, to enable him to charge some Part of his Estate with reasonable Portions and Maintenances for his Younger Children, in case they live to be married, or be of Age:

It is Ordered, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the Consideration of the said Petition shall be, and is hereby, referred to the Lord Chief Baron of Her Majesty's Court of Exchequer and Sir Littleton Powys One of Her Majesty's Justices of the Court of Queen's Bench; who are forthwith to summon all Parties concerned in the Bill; and, after hearing them, to report to the House the State of the Case, with their Opinion thereupon, under their Hands, and whether all Parties that may be concerned in the Consequences of the Bill have signed the Petition; and also that the Judges, having perused the Bill, do sign the same.

Queen's Speech considered:

The Order being read, for taking into Consideration Her Majesty's most Gracious Speech from the Throne; and Her Majesty's said Speech being also read:

The Addresses following were severally agred to; (videlicet,)

Address for Treaties:

Ordered, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, that an humble Address be presented to Her Majesty, "That Her Majesty will be graciously pleased to order authentic Copies of the Treaties of Peace and Commerce with Spain to be laid before this House."

Address to know how far the Peace is compleat between the Allies and France and Spain:

Ordered, That an humble Address be presented to Her Majesty, "That Her Majesty will be likewise pleased to order an Account to be laid before this House, how far the Peace is compleat between Her Majesty's Allies and France and Spain; and what is yet wanting to make the same universal: As also what Obstructions Her Majesty has met with, in Her Endeavours to make the same universal and compleat."

Address concerning the Removal of the Pretender from Lorraine, &c.:

Ordered, That an humble Address be presented to Her Majesty, "That Her Majesty will be likewise pleased to order an Account to be laid before this House, of what Endeavours have been used, for the removing the Pretender out of the Dominions of the Duke of Lorrain, or of any other of Her Majesty's Allies; and what Answers have been sent by those Princes, or any of their Ministers, to Her Majesty, or any of Her Ministers."

Address concerning Endeavours for the Catalans enjoying their Rights:

Ordered, That an humble Address be presented to Her Majesty, "That Her Majesty will be likewise pleased to order an Account to be laid before this House, of what Endeavours have been used, that the Catalans might have the full Enjoyment of all their ancient Liberties and Privileges; and that a full State of all Proceedings, during the Treaty of Peace, relating thereunto, may be also laid before this House."

Ordered, That the said several Addresses be presented to Her Majesty by the Lords with White Staves.

Queen's Speech to be considered.

Ordered, That on Friday next this House will take into further Consideration Her Majesty's most Gracious Speech from the Throne.
