Parliament prorogued.

MEMORANDUM, Where the Queen's Majesty, by virtue of Her Writ Patent, sealed with the Great Seal of England, bearing Date at Hinchingbrooke, the 8th Day of this instant Month of October, did prorogue and adjourn the 'foresaid Parliament, summoned to begin the Fifteenth Day of October, in the said 28th Year of Her Highness's Reign, unto this present 27th Day, as by the same Writ more plainly appeareth; Her Highness, upon certain great and weighty Causes and Considerations Her Majesty specially moving, by the Advice of Her Privy Council, and of Her Justices of both Her Benches, and other Her Counsel Learned, did (by virtue of Her Writ Patent, sealed with the Great Seal of England, bearing Date at Westm. the 26th Day of this instant Month of October) further prorogue and adjourn the said Parliament, from this said 27th Day, until Saturday next, being the 29th of this said Month of October. Whereupon, at this said 27th Day, the Lord Chancellor, with divers others Her Lords and Counsellors, repaired to the Parliament Chamber, commonly called The Upper House, and there, in the Presence of divers Lords Spiritual and Temporal, the Knights, Citizens, and Burgesses, summoned to the same Parliament, did open and declare, That Her Highness, for the Causes afore rehearsed, had prorogued the said Parliament, from the said 27th Day unto Saturday next, being the 29th of the said Month; all which Matter being notified to the said Assembly, the Writ for the said Prorogation, in the Presence of all that Assembly, was there read, by the Clerk of the Upper House, publickly and openly; the Tenor whereof ensueth, verbatim:

"Elizabetha, Dei Gratia, Angliæ, Franciæ, et Hiberniæ Regina, Fidei Defensor, etc. Prædilectis et Fidelibus Nostris Prælatis, Magnatibus, et Proceribus, Regni Nostri Angliæ, ac Dilectis et Fidelibus Nostris Militibus, Civibus, et Burgensibus dicti Regni Nostri, ad præsens Parliamentum Nostrum, apud Civitatem Nostram Westm. vicesimo septimo die hujus instantis mensis Octobris tenendum, convocatis et electis, et vestrum cuilibet, Salutem.

"Cum Nos, pro quibusdam arduis et urgentibus Negotiis, Nos, Statum et Defensionem Regni Nostri Angliæ et Ecclesiæ Anglicanæ concernentibus, dictum Parliamentum Nostrum decimo quinto die dicti instantis mensis, apud Civitatem prædictam, teneri ordinaverimus, ac vobis, per separalia Brevia Nostra, apud Civitatem et diem prædictam, interesse mandaverimus, ad tractandum, consentiendum, et concludendum super hiis, quæ in dicto Parliamento Nostro tunc et ibidem proponerentur et tractarentur; cumque Nos, per Breve Nostrum, certis de Causis et Considerationibus Nos ad hoc specialiter moventibus, dictum Parliamentum Nostrum, ab eodem decimo quinto die dicti instantis mensis Octobris, usque dictum vicesimum septimum diem ejusdem mensis Octobris duximus prorogandum; ita quod nec vos, nec vestrum aliquis, ad dictum decimum quintum diem Octobris, apud dictam Civitatem, comparere teneamini seu arctemini; volentes enim vos, et vestrum, quemliber, inde erga Nos penitus exonerari; et per idem Breve Nostrum vobis, et cuilibet vestrum, ad eundem vicesimum septimum diem Octobris, apud Civitatem prædictam, comparere et interesse nuperrime mandaverimus, ad tractandum, faciendum, agendum, et concludendum super hiis, quæ in dicto Parliamento Nostro contigisset ordinari: Quibusdam tamen certis urgentibus de Causis et Considerationibus Nos ad hoc specialiter moventibus, dictum Parliamentum Nostrum, ab eodem vicesimo septimo die Octobris, usque ad vicesimum nonum diem præsentis mensis, ulterius duximus prorogandum, ita quod nec vos, nec aliquis vestrum, ad dictum vicesimum septimum diem Octobris, apud Civitatem prædictam, comparere teneamini, seu arctemini. Voluimus enim vos, et vestrum quemlibet, inde erga Nos penitus exonerari; mandantes, et, tenore præsentium, firmiter injungendo præcipientes, vobis, et cuilibet vestrum, ac omnibus aliis quibus in hac parte intererit, quod ad dictum vicesimum nonum diem Octobris, apud Civitatem Westm. prædictam, personaliter compareatis et intersitis, et vestrum quilibet compareat et intersit, ad tractandum, faciendum, agendum, et concludendum super hiis, quæ in dicto Parliamento Nostro, de communi Consilio dicti Regni Nostri (favente Domino), contigerint ordinari. In cujus rei Testimonium, has Literas Nostras fieri fecimus Patentes. Teste Meipsa, apud Westm. vicesimo sexto die Octobris, Anno Regni Nostri 28°.
