The Contract with the King concerning Wardships, &c.

This Day was openly read the Memorial concerning the great Contract with His Majesty, touching Tenures with the Dependents, Purveyance, &c. conceived at the last Session, by Direction of the Lords.

The Memorial also concerning the Contract aforesaid, delivered at the End of the last Session to their Lordships, by the Committees of the Commons House, was likewise read.

The Lord Chancellor, in a grave effectual Speech, did put the Lords in Mind of the State of the Business concerning the Contract aforesaid; and moved, That their Lordships would now advise what shall be spoken this Afternoon unto the Committees of the Lower House, touching the Premises, and by whom the same shall be delivered; and that this Matter, being of so great Moment, may the better be dealt in, his Lordship wished the Debate thereof to be by way of Interlocution; and, for that Purpose, the House to be adjourned, and the Lords to sit as in a Committee; which Motion was generally approved.

Adjourn.

Dominus Cancellarius continuavit præsens Parliamentum usque in diem Sabbati, videlicet, 27m Octobris, inter horam 9m et 10m.
