E. Westmorland takes the Oaths.

This Day Thomas Earl of Westmorland took the Oaths, and made and subscribed the Declaration, and also took and subscribed the Oath of Abjuration, pursuant to the Statutes.

Waggoners, &c. Bill.

Ordered, That the Committee, to whom the Bill, intituled, "An Act to restrain all Waggoners, Carriers, and others, from drawing any Carriage with more than Five Horses in Length," was committed, be revived; and meet To-morrow, at Ten a Clock.

Touchet versus Count of Castlehaven.

After hearing Counsel, upon the Petition and Appeal of James Touchet Esquire, to which Elizabeth Countess Dowager of Castlehaven and others are Respondents:

It is Ordered, That the further Hearing of this Cause be adjourned till To-morrow, at Twelve a Clock.

Causes removed.

Ordered, That the Cause appointed to be heard To-morrow be put off to Thursday next; and the other Causes removed One Day in Course.

Tanner's Bill.

Hodie 2a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act for vesting the Estate late of John Tanner Esquire, deceased, in Trustees, to be sold, for Payment of his Debts."

Menzies, Petition for Costs.

Upon reading the Petition of Helen, Barbara, and Jean Menzies, and Robert Moor, Husband to the said Barbara; praying, "In regard the said Robert Moor having been obliged to come from Aberdeen in Scotland (near Four Hundred Miles) Two several Times, in Obedience to the Orders of this House, upon the Appeal of Charles Menzies Esquire, and being put to great Charges and Expences in defending so litigious and vexatious a Prosecution; that this House will order the Petitioner Costs, in respect of the said Appeal:"

It is Ordered, That the said Petition do lie on the Table; and that the Clerks do inspect the Journals of this House, whether any Thing of this Nature hath been heretofore done; and give an Account thereof to the House.

Mrs. Lyon's Petition, concerning proper Parties to her Appeal.

Upon reading the Petition of Katherine Lyon, Widow of John Lyon, of Muresk, Esquire, deceased; praying, "That this House will give Order, sustaining the Service of the Earl of Aboyn and Mr. Patrick Lyon, sufficient to oblige the said Patrick Lyon to put in his Answer to the Petitioner's Appeal; or to grant a new Order, for serving such a Number of the said Earl's Curators as is usual by the Forms of Scotland; and that such Answer may be put in to the said Appeal, and in such Form, as the Method and Practice of this House requires:"

It is Ordered, That the further Consideration of the said Petition be adjourned till To-morrow.
