L. Maynard takes the Oaths.

This Day Banastre Lord Maynard took the Oaths, and made and subscribed the Declaration, and also took and subscribed the Oath of Abjuration, pursuant to the Statutes.

P. of Wales to take the Oaths as Chancellor of Dublin, Bill.

The Earl of Greenwich presented to the House, a Bill, intituled, "An Act to enable his Royal Highness George Prince of Wales to qualify himself in Great Britain for the legal Enjoyment of the Office of Chancellor of the University of Dublin, in the Kingdom of Ireland."

The said Bill was read the First Time.

Popping attached, for printing the E. of Winton's Trial.

Complaint was made to the House of a printed Paper, intituled, "An Account of the Trial of the Earl of Winton, which began on the 15th, and ended the 19th, of March 1716, mentioned to be printed for S. Popping, at The Black Raven, in Pater Noster Row, 1716, Price Two Pence."

And the said Title being read:

It is Ordered, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the Gentleman Usher of the Black Rod attending this House, his Deputy or Deputies, do forthwith attach the Body of the said S. Popping, for printing and publishing the said Paper, in Breach of a Standing Order of this House; and this shall be a sufficient Warrant on that Behalf.

To Sir William Oldes, Gentleman Usher of the Black Rod attending this House, his Deputy or Deputies, and every of them.

Prince of Wales's Bill:

The House being informed, "That a Person attended, with the Record of the Letters Patents granted by King James the First to Prince Henry, ordered Yesterday to be laid before the House:"

He was called in; and delivered the same accordingly.

Ordered, That the Consideration of the said Letters Patents be referred to the Committee of the whole House, to whom the Bill, intituled, "An Act to enable His Majesty to grant the Regalities and Lands now remaining in the Crown, in North Wales and South Wales and County of Chester, to his Royal Highness the Prince of Wales, in such Manner and Form as the Principality of Wales and Earldom of Chester have been formerly granted to the Princes of Wales; and also to enable his said Royal Highness to make Leases of Lands, Parcel of his Royal Highness's Dutchy of Cornwal, or annexed to the same," stands committed.

Then the House (according to Order) was adjourned during Pleasure, and put into the said Committee.

And, after some Time spent therein, the House was resumed.

And the Duke of Kingston reported from the said Committee, "That they had gone through the Bill; and directed him to report the same to the House, without any Amendment."

Then the said Bill was read the Third Time.

And the Question being put, "Whether this Bill shall pass?"

It was Resolved in the Affirmative.

Message to H. C. that the Lords have agreed to it.

A Message was sent to the House of Commons, by the Lord Chief Justice of the Court of Common Pleas and Mr. Justice Eyre:

To acquaint them, that the Lords have agreed to the said Bill, without any Amendment.

D. of Schonburg's Bill:

Hodie 3^a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act to enable His Majesty to grant Letters Patents, to supply a Defect in a Grant, made by His Majesty King William the Third unto Maynard Duke of Schonburg and Leinster, of the Annual Sum of Four Thousand Pounds, out of the Revenues of the Post-office, until the Sum of One Hundred Thousand Pounds be paid."

The Question was put, "Whether this Bill shall pass?"

It was Resolved in the Affirmative.

Message to H. C. that the Lords have agreed to it.

A Message was sent to the House of Commons, by Mr. Fellows and Mr. Orlebar:

To acquaint them, that the Lords have agreed to the said Bill, without any Amendment.

Endfield Highways, Bill.

The House (according to Order) was adjourned during Pleasure, and put into a Committee upon the Bill, intituled, "An Act for continuing and making more effectual an Act passed in the Twelfth Year of Her late Majesty's Reign, intituled, An Act for repairing the Highway, or Road, from The Stones-end, in the Parish of St. Leonard, Shoreditch, in the County of Midd'x, to the furthermost Part of the Northern Road in the Parish of Endfield, in the same County, next to the Parish of Cheshunt in the County of Hertford."

And, after some Time spent therein, the House was resumed.

And the Earl of Stamford reported from the said Committee, "That they had gone through the Bill; and directed him to report the same to the House, without any Amendment."

Message from H. C. with a Bill.

A Message from the House of Commons, by Mr. Broderick and others:

With a Bill, intituled, "An Act to indemnify such Persons who have acted in Defence of His Majesty's Person and Government, and for the Preservation of the Public Peace of this Kingdom, in and about the Time of the late unnatural Rebellion, from vexatious Suits and Prosecutions;" to which they desire the Concurrence of this House.

Adjourn.
