Militia Bill.

A Message was brought from the House of Commons, by Mr. Attorney General and others:

With a Bill, intituled, "An Act to raise the Militia of that Part of Great Britian called England, although the Month's Pay formerly advanced hath not yet been re-paid; and to raise such Part of the said Militia as shall be judged most proper, ready, and convenient;" to which they desire the Concurrence of this House.

The said Bill was read the First Time.

Hodie 2a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act to raise the Militia of that Part of Great Britain called England, although the Month's Pay formerly advanced hath not yet been re-paid; and to raise such Part of the said Militia as shall be judged most proper, ready, and convenient."

Ordered, That the said Bill be read the Third Time To-morrow.

Lady Dinely against Philips, Writ of Error.

The Lord Chief Justice of the Court of King's Bench, in the usual Manner, brought up a Writ of Error; wherein,

Dame Mary Dinely is Plaintiff, and Mary Phillips Widow Defendant.

It was Resolved in the Affirmative.

Message to H. C. that the Lords have agreed to it.

A Message was sent to the House of Commons, by by Mr. Bennet and Mr. Elde:

To acquaint them, that the Lords have agreed to the said Bill, without any Amendment.

Inkpen Common Fields to enclose, Leave for a Bill.

Upon reading the Petition of the several Persons whose Names are thereunto subscribed, being Owners and interested of and in divers Parts and Parcels of Land, lying dispersed in the Common Fields called or known by the Name of East Field, Middle Field, Hook Field, Wyar Field, and Clay Field, in the Parish of Inkpen, in the County of Berks; praying Leave to bring in a Bill, to render certain Articles of Agreement, in the Petition mentioned, conclusive and effectual for enclosing the said Common Fields:

It is Ordered, That Leave be given to bring in a Bill, as desired.

The House was adjourned during Pleasure, to robe.

The House was resumed.

The King present:

His Majesty, being seated on the Throne, with the accustomed Ceremonies; the Prince of Wales, and the Duke of Cumberland, in their Robes, sitting in their respective Places; the Lords being also in their Robes; the Gentleman Usher of the Black Rod received His Majesty's Commands, to let the Commons know, "It is His Majesty's Pleasure, that they attend Him immediately, in this House."

Who being come, with their Speaker:

The Clerk of the Crown read the Title of the Bill ready for the Royal Assent, as follows; (videlicet,)

Militia Bill passed:

"An Act to raise the Militia of that Part of Great Britain called England, although the Month's Pay formerly advanced hath not yet been re-paid; and to raise such Part of the said Militia as shall be judged most proper, ready, and convenient."

To which Bill the Royal Assent was pronounced, in these Words; (videlicet,)

"Le Roy le veult."

Then His Majesty was pleased to retire.

And the Commons withdrew.

The House was adjourned during Pleasure, to unrobe.

The House was resumed.

Carmichael's Petition referred to Judges.

Upon reading the Petition of Daniel Carmichael of Mauldslie; praying Leave to bring in a Bill, for Sale of the Lands and Barony of Belstoun, and such Part of the Barony of Mauldslie, as shall be sufficient to satisfy, pay, and discharge, the Sum of Three Thousand Three Hundred and Twenty-two Pounds, Thirteen Shillings, and Three Pence, Sterling, and Interest thereof, wherewith the said Tailzied Estate in Scotland stands charged; and for laying out the Surplus of the Purchase Money (if any) in the Purchase of other Lands, to be settled, as near as can be, to the Uses of the Deed of Entail, subject to the Provisoes and Declarations therein set forth:

It is Ordered, That the Consideration of the said Petition be, and is hereby, referred to the Lord Chief Justice of the Court of Common Pleas and Mr. Justice Abney; who are forthwith to summon all Parties concerned in the Bill; and, after hearing them, are to report to the House the State of the Case, with their Opinion thereupon, under their Hands, and whether all Parties who may be concerned in the Consequences of the Bill have signed the Petition; and also that the Judges, having perused the Bill, do sign the same.

Land Tax Bill.

A Message was brought from the House of Commons, by Mr. Fane and others:

With a Bill, intituled, "An Act for granting an Aid to His Majesty, by a Land Tax, to be raised in Great Britain, for the Service of the Year One Thousand Seven Hundred and Forty-six;" to which they desire the Concurrence of this House.

The said Bill was read the First Time.
