Carr's Bill.
The Earl of Marchmont reported from the Lords Committees to whom the Bill, intituled, "An Act to empower Elizabeth the Wife of Henry Thomas Carr Esquire, a Lunatick, to make an Appointment of a Sum of Three Thousand Pounds, towards the Payment of the said Lunatick's Debts; and for other Purposes therein mentioned," was committed: "That they had considered the said Bill, and examined the Allegations thereof, which were found to be true; that the Parties concerned had given their Consents, to the Satisfaction of then Committee; and that the Committee had gone through the Bill, and directed him to report the same to the House, without any Amendment."
Ordered, That the said Bill be engrossed.
Loxley Enclosure Bill.
The Earl of Marchmont also reported from the Lords Committees to whom the Bill, intituled, "An Act for dividing and enclosing several Open and Arable Meadow and Pasture Grounds, in the Parish of Loxley, in the County of Warwick," was committed: "That they had considered the said Bill, and examined the Allegations thereof, which were found to be true; that the Parties concerned had given their Consents, to the Satisfaction of the Committee; and that the Committee had gone through the Bill, and directed him to report the same to the House, without any Amendment."
River Ivel Bill.
Hodie 2a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act for making the River Ivel and the Branches thereof navigable, from the River Ouze at Tempsford in the County of Bedford, to Shotling Mill otherwise called Burnt Mill in the Parish of Hitchin in the County of Hertford, and to Black Horse Mill in the Parish of Bygrave in the said County of Hertford, and to the South and North Bridges in the Town of Shefford in the said County of Bedford."

Jackson, Leave to petition for a Bill.
A Petition of Samuel Dodington, lately called Samuel Jackson, was presented, and read; setting forth, "That George Dodington of Horsington in the County of Somerset Esquire did, by his last Will and Testament, devise several Estates to the Petitioner for his Life, and to his First and other Sons in Tail Mail, with Remainders over to several other Persons, upon express Condition, that all and every the Devisees, as soon as they should become entitled to the said Estates, should take and use the Surname and Arms of Dodington;" and praying, "In regard the Petitioner did not become entitled to the said Estates till after the Time limited by Order of this House for receiving Petitions for Private Bills, that their Lordships would be pleased to receive a Petition for Leave to bring in a Bill, to enable the Petitioner and his Heirs Male to take and use the Surname and Arms of Dodington, pursuant to the Directions of the said Will."
Ordered, That the said Petition be received, as desired.

Bar Iron from America, Bill.
A Message was brought from the House of Commons, by Mr. Nugent and others:
With a Bill, intituled, "An Act to extend the Liberty granted by an Act of the Twenty-third Year of the Reign of his present Majesty, of importing Bar Iron from His Majesty's Colonies in America into the Port of London, to the other Ports of Great Britain, and for repealing certain Clauses in the said Act;" to which they desire the Concurrence of this House.

A Petition of Edward Weston Esquire and others, Respondents in a Cause depending in this House, wherein George Lord Carbery of the Kingdom of Ireland is Appellant, which stands appointed for Hearing on a distant Day, was presented, and read; setting forth, "That, before the Decree appealed from was obtained by the Petitioners, the Appellant put in Practice every Method that could be devised, to retard the Hearing of the Cause in the Court below, and throughout the Progress thereof hath given the Petitioners all possible Delay; and, since the final Decree, which was made in February 1756, hath stood out Processes of Contempt to Sequestration, before he thought proper to lodge his Appeal; that these Delays are in a very particular Manner distressful, and may be attended with fatal Consequences to the Petitioners; for, if the Appellant should happen to die, pending this Suit, they will, by his Death, lose a great Debt due to them, as they have no Security for it but the Decree, the Estate conveyed by the Appellant as a Security having been previously encumbered by him to Three Times its Value;" and therefore praying, under these Circumstances, "That their Lordships would be pleased to appoint a short Day for hearing the said Cause."
And thereupon the Agents on both Sides were called in, and heard at the Bar.
