Haines versus Crouch in Error.

Hodie Sir Randall Crewe, Knight, Lord Chief Justice of the King's Bench, returned into this Court His Majesty's Writ of Error, granted unto Edward Haines, and brought in the Record and Process between the said Haines and Thomas Crowch, and delivered the said Writ of Error and a Transcript of the said Record unto the Lord Keeper.

Memorandum, That, at the Rising of the House, the Record was carried back again, and the Transcript left with the Clerk, together with Haines's Petition to the King, signed by His Majesty.

Report from the Committee touching the Petition about Religion.

The Lord President reported, That the Sub-committees of both Houses had agreed and perfected the Alterations in the Petition for Religion.

Message from the House of Commons, concerning that Petition and other Matters.

Message from the Commons, by Sir Edward Cooke and others:

That the House of Commons desire their Lordships would be pleased to sit this Afternoon, that they may present the Petition touching Religion (which will be by that Time fair ingrossed with the Amendment), and impart some other Matters of Importance, concerning the Commonwealth, unto their Lordships.

Message from the House of Commons, with the Petition about Religion.

Message from the Commons, by Sir Edward Cooke and others:

That the House of Commons have sent unto their Lordships the Petition for Advancement of true Religion, and suppressing of Superstition and Idolatry, as it is accommodated and agreed by both Houses; humbly desiring their Lordships to appoint a Committee, to join with a Committee of their House, for Delivery thereof unto His Majesty. The Number they leave unto their Lordships. As touching the Message delivered from His Majesty touching the Session of Parliament, they can say nothing to it as yet.

Answer. Petition of both Houses to be presented to His Majesty.

Answered:

That the Lords have appointed a Committee of Eight, to join in the Delivery of this Petition, at such Time as it shall please His Majesty to appoint.

And that they have ordered the Lord Keeper to write unto the Lord Steward, to know His Majesty's Pleasure, when He will be pleased to admit them to His Presence; which they hope to understand Tomorrow.
