E. Suffolk's Privilege.

Hains Arrest

The Earl of Dorsett reported, That the Petition of Thomas Haynes versus John Parham being referred to a Select Committee, their Lordships are of Opinion, That the Differences touching the Land in Question between them be referred to the Arbitrement of the Lord Chief Justice and the Lord Chief Baron: That Thomas Haines shall have his Goods and the Corn sown by him: That Thomas Haines and his Son shall enjoy the Privilege of Parliament; and that the Possession of the Land in Question shall remain where the Law hath settled it, until it be determined by the Writ of Error depending here, or by the Arbitrement of the said Judges. All which is Ordered by the House accordingly.

Report of the Conference concerning Religion.

The Lord Archbishop of Cant. reported the Conference had with the Commons Yesterday in the Afternoon, touching the Petition for Religion, wherein they desired the Lords to join with them unto the King: videlicet,

That his Grace first related unto them upon what Grounds the Pardon mentioned in that Petition was granted, and the Reason of the Date thereof; and the King's Commandment, both for the Pardon and for the Letter, written by the Principal Secretary; and how that all was done at the great Importunity of Foreign Ambassadors (prout antea, in the former Report, nono Augusti); and further, That his Grace signified unto the Commons their Lordships Motion, To join together in humble Thanks to His Majesty, for His Gracious Answer to their former Petition; and to beseech His Majesty not to be importuned hereafter, by any Foreign Ambassadors, to grant any Thing contrary to the said Answers.

And lastly, his Grace signified unto the Lords, That they of the Commons seemed to be satisfied touching the said Pardon, and the Date thereof, and the said Letter; and seemed to approve of their Lordships Motion, to join in the Thanks and Petition unto the King. All which they promised to relate to their own House.

Report touching the Collection for the Poor in London.

The Lord Treasurer also reported, That, at the said Conference, the Commons were acquainted with the Order made here, for the Collection for London, &c. and how that the Lords had left it unto them, whether the Commons would do any Thing therein, or no. Whereupon they of the Commons required a Copy of the said Order, and had it, and promised to acquaint their House therewith.
