The Lord Viscount Weymouth reported from the Lords Committees, to whom the Bill, intituled, An Act to enable Sir Watkin Williams Wynn Baronet, a Minor, to make a Settlement on his intended Marriage with the Lady Harriot Somerset, was committed: That they had considered the said Bill, and examined the Allegations thereof, which were found to be true; that the Parties concerned had given their Consents to the Satisfaction of the Committee; and that the Committee had gone through the Bill, and directed him to report the same to the House, without any Amendment.
Ordered, That the said Bill be engrossed.
Mailborough, &c. Road Bill.
The Lord Sandys reported from the Lords Committees, to whom the Bill, intituled, An Act to enlarge the Term and Powers of an Act, passed in the Sixteenth Year of King George the Second, for repairing the Roads from Marlborough to Shepherd's Shord, and from Beckhampton to the Top of Cherrill Hill, and from Avebury to Beckhampton, in the County of Wilts; and for repairing and widening the Road from the Turnpike Gate at Avebury to Wroughton and from the North Side of Swindon to The Carpenter's Arms in Blunsden, in the said County; was committed: That they had considered the said Bill, and examined the Allegations thereof, which were found to be true; and that the Committee had gone through the Bill, and directed him to report the (same to the House, without any Amendment.
Mereworth Cross &c. Road Bill.
The Lord Sandys also made the like Report from the Lords Committees, to whom the Bill, intituled, An Act for repairing and widening the Road leading from Mereworth Cross to the Road leading from Seal to Wrotham Heath, and also the said Road from opposite the House of William Dalison Esquire, to Hadlow Street, in the County of Kent, was committed.

The Sincere Satisfaction you express in the Measures which I have already taken, and the Strong Assurances you give of Supporting Me in those which may be still necessary to maintain the just Legislative Authority, and the due Execution of the Laws, in My Province of Massachusetts Bay, give Me great Pleasure.
I Shall not fail to give those Orders which you recommend, as the most effectual Method of bringing the Authors of the late unhappy Disorders in that Province to condign Punishment.

The said Bill was read the First Time
Ordered, That the said Bill be read a Second Time on Thursday the 1st Day of March next, and that Notice thereof be affixed on the Doors of this House, and the Lords to be Summoned, and that the said John Worgan may be heard by his Counsel at the said Second Reading, to make out the Truth of the Allegations of the Bill, and that the said Sarah Mackelcan may have a Copy of the said Bill, and that Notice be given her of the said Second Reading, and that she be at Liberty to be heard by her Counsel what she may have to offer against the said. Aiffiur against Gomlay, Petition for a Bye-day?
A Petition of Janet Gourlay Respondent, in a Cause depending in this House, wherein James Arthur is Appellant, was presented and read; setting forth, That the only Question in this Cause is, Whether the Respondent is entitled to a separate Maintenance from her Husband the Appellant, as the Commissaries of Edinburgh and the Lords of Session have, cc by the Interlocutors appealed from, decreed her; and Causes of Aliment being held in, the Court of Session entitled to the Privilege of being heard summarily in Preference in Point of Time to other common Causes ? and therefore praying Their Lordships will be pleased to order that this Cause may be set down to be heard on Thursday the 9th Day of March next, being a Bye-day, or on such other short Day as to their Lordships shall seem meet.
And thereupon the Agents on both Sides were called in, and heard at the Bar.
And being withdrawn;

The Lord Sandys reported from the Lords Committees, to whom the Bill, intituled, An Act for confirming a Partition between John Edwardes Esquire, John Fremantle Esquire and Frances his Wife, and Mary Edwardes Spinster, of several Estates in the County of Middlesex and City of Bristol, devised by the Will of John Schoppens Esquire devised, and of the Residue of the Personal Estate of the said John Schoppens, was committed: That they had considered the said Bill, and examined the Allegations thereof, which were found to be true; that the Parties concerned had given their Consents to the Satisfaction of the Committee; and that the Committee had gone through the Bill, and directed him to report the same to the House, without any Amendment.
