By will proved 1591 John Kilburn left to the poor of Woodditton 6s. 8d. a year charged on a house in Saxon Street. (fn. 1) Walter Pratt senior (perhaps d. by 1608) (fn. 2) left £1 10s. a year. Both charities were distributed annually until 1662 but no later record has been found. (fn. 3) Lord Gorges's almshouse charity in Stetchworth and Derisley's charity in Kirtling made some provision for residents of Woodditton. (fn. 4)
