June 3.
York.
To the bishops of London and Lincoln, collectors of the tenth of the clergy granted to the king by the pope. Order to pay to Pelegrin Darion and Menald de Biteaux, merchants of Gascony, 52l. 0s. 10d. for wines bought from them by William Trent in the 30th year of the late king's reign for the expenses of his household, as contained in a bill under the seal of Walter de Bedewynde, then cofferer (coferarii) of the wardrobe, delivered by the said merchants into the exchequer.

To the burgesses of Kyngeston-on-Hull. Order to deliver to Ralph de Stokes, clerk of the king's great wardrobe, or to such as shall supply his place, the six pieces (peceas) of wax in which they made fine with the king for confirming certain of their charters.
June 6.
York.
To the sheriff of Hereford. Order to cause a coroner for the town of Hereford to be elected in full county [court] in place of William Godknave, deceased.
June 4.
York.
To the sheriff of York. Order to buy and provide iron, steel, and iron, nails, to wit great 'spikynges' and small 'spikynges' and 'lattenailes,' to the value of 16l. 13s. 6d., according to the instructions of Edward le Fevre and Benedict de la Chaumbre, and to deliver them to the said Edward, satisfying those from whom he has bought them out of the first issues of his bailiwick.
June 6.
York.
To the treasurer, or to him who supplies his place, and to the chamberlains of the exchequer. Order to pay 220l. out of the tenth for three years and the fifteenth of the clergy by the hands of the abbot of Faversham, subcollector of the same in the diocese of Canterbury, to John de Pellam, clerk of the Marshalsea of the king's household, to be paid by him to the men of the parts of London in part payment of 558l. 7s. 11d. for hay, oats, and litter bought by him from them in October, November, December, and January whilst the king was there for the maintenance of the king's horses; charging him with the above sum.

William Hayward, in the king's prison at York for the death of John Ketel, of Wyrmeslay, has letters to the sheriff of York to bail him until the first assize.
John son of Peter le Brus, of Pukenhale, imprisoned for the same cause, has like letters.
June 3.
York.
To the keeper of the Forest this side Trent. Order to permit Nicholas de Meynill to fell, sell, and carry whithersoever he likes two hundred oaks in his wood of Aldewerk within the bounds of the forest of Galtres, which the king has granted him licence to do.

To Robert de Wodehous, escheator this side Trent. Order to stay until further orders the inquisition that he was ordered to take concerning the lands of John le Bygod, clerk, deceased, and not to intermeddle further with the same lands, restoring the issues thereof received by him.

To the collectors of the custom of wool, hides, and wool-fells in the port of Boston. Order to pay to Anthony Pessaigne, merchant of Genoa, 166l. 8s. 0d., for 40l. for pearls (perulis) for the queen, 24l. paid by him by the king's order to the king's clerk Roger de Wyngefeld, 39l. 10s. 0d. paid to William de la Beche, 19l. 18s. 0d. paid to the king's yeoman Burgesius de Tilio, and 35l. paid to John Pecok, and 8l. paid to Elias Esmund, for the king's affairs; to be paid, notwithstanding any order to the contrary, out of the issues of the custom from the time when the said Anthony shall have received certain sums of money that the king has assigned to him from the said custom. To Robert de Wodehouse, escheator this side Trent. Order to resume into the king's hands the lands that John son of John Tranez held at his death of the bishopric of Durham, void and in the king's hands, in Pynelthorp, Stokebrigg, Kylpyn, Skelton, Neubaud, Lunton, Benetland, Estryngton, Thorp, Houedene, and Barneby, and to deliver the same to Nicholas de Chilham, to whom the king had granted the custody of the same during the minority of the heir, to be held by him in tenencia until the next parliament summoned to be held at Lincoln, when ordinance shall be made concerning the same; notwithstanding that the king ordered him to deliver the same to Idonia, late the wife of Thomas Tranez, mother of the heir, as nearest friend of the said heir, it being found by an inquisition taken by the escheator aforesaid that the said John held these lands by homage and service of 103s. 10d. of free ferm yearly for all services, and that he held no other lands of the king or the bishopric by knight service, and that John son of Thomas Tranez, kinsman of the said John, is his next heir and is aged nine years; as it was found by another inquisition that the bishops have had in times past the wardship of the lands of other men holding of them in those parts by like service, and the said Nicholas is ready to prove that the wardship of the said lands pertains to the king during the heir's minority.
June 10.
Howden.
To the mayor and bailiffs of York. Order to pay out of the ferm of the city to Hugh le Armurer, of Brugges, 20l. 16s. 2d., and to Lorettus, merchant of Dynaunt, 6s. for armour, and to Gervase, merchant of Dynaunt, 30s. for vessels, bought from them for the king's use.

Howden.
To William de Spanneby. Order to deliver by indenture to Ebulo de Montibus all the king's stock (instaurum) in the Templars' manor of la Bruere, co. Lincoln, which manor the king has ordered him to deliver to the said Ebulo, to whom the king has granted it during pleasure for his good service to the king and his father and in order that he may the better serve queen Isabella; so that he may restore the stock to the king with the manor, excepting that he is not to be charged with beasts that may die in the meantime. Henry son of Robert de Northconton, in the king's prison at Notingham for the death of John Scot, of Morland, has letters to the sheriff of York (sic) to bail him until the first assize.
June 15.
Hull.
To the sheriff of Cambridge. Order to pay to Henry Typler, of Eslyngton, 7l. 18s. 9d. for divers victuals bought from him at Berwick-onTweed by the king's clerk Ranulph de Benton and Walter de Gosewyk, mayor of Berwick-on-Tweed, and sent by the king's order to the town of St. John of Perth for the maintenance of the men-at-arms and footmen defending the same at the king's wages, as appears by a bill under the seal of the chamberlain of Scotland delivered by the said Henry into chancery.

Order to pay to the king's yeoman William de Rykkethorn 23l. 12s. 11d. for the arrears of his wages and robes, both for the time of the war in Scotland and for other time, as appears by four bills of the king's wardrobe sealed by Ingelard de Warle, the keeper. Burstwick.
To Edmund de Malo Lacu, keeper of the manor of Brustwyk. Order to pay, out of the ferm of the manor, 32l. 6s. 8d. to Roger de Morewode, being 11l. 10s. 0d. for arrears of the wages of Reginald son of Peter his fellow esquire at arms, and for recompence for his black horse appraised by him on the king's behalf for the time when he was in the company of John de Britannia, keeper of Scotland, and 20l. 16s. 8d. for the wages of John de la Mars his fellow, and for recompence for a bay (bad') horse appraised as above and lost in the king's service aforesaid, according to an account made with him by the executors of the will of Eustace de Cotesbeche, late chamberlain of Scotland, as appears by a bill sealed by the said chamberlain delivered into the exchequer by the said Henry.
June 20.

To Roger de Wellesworth, escheator beyond Trent. Order not to intermeddle further with the lands of John de Lacu, of Great Paxton, as it appears by inquisition taken by the said escheator that he held nothing in chief of the king at his death whereby the custody of his lands ought to pertain to the king.
June 26.
York.
To the mayor of London. Order to take the city of London into the king's hands without delay, and to guard it for the king's use, and to cause all horses at arms and armour for sale found there to be arrested for the king's use, not permitting such horses or armour to be led out of the city by anybody without a special order from the king. To William de Vallibus, constable of Cnaresburgh castle. Order to cause that castle to be fortified with men and victuals as shall seem fit for its safe custody, out of the issues of the same.

Order to deliver 20 quarters of wheat, out of the issues of the manor, to the abbot of Meaux, for the 20 quarters that the king lately caused to be taken from him when at the abbey for the expenses of his household. To the keeper of the manor of Brustwyk. Order to deliver to Henry de Bello Monte, Edmund de Malo Lacu, and Oliver de Burdeg[ala], one bay colt (pullanos badios) each from the stud (de equicio) of the manor, as the king has enjoined him by word of mouth. By K.

To Edward Bacoun, constable of Walyngford castle. Order to provision the castle with victuals and other necessaries, and to repair the houses within the same. By K.
To Roger de Wellesworth, escheator beyond Trent. Order not to intermeddle further with the lands of Petronilla de Bruly of Loduic', as it appears by inquisition taken by him that she held nothing of the king at her death whereby the custody of her lands ought to pertain to the king.
To the king's yeoman Taillifer de Tillio, constable of Scardeburgh castle. Order to take the town of Scardeburgh into the king's hands without delay, and to cause it to be safely guarded.
June 27.
York.
To Robert de Barton, late receiver of the issues of the bishopric of Durham, void and in the king's hands. Order to pay to Alexander de Abernythy the 50l. out of the issues of the bishopric that the king ordered him to pay in part payment of the king's debts to the said Alexander, according to the tenor of the king's order, notwithstanding any other order for any payment out of the issues elsewhere.

York.
To him who supplies the place of the treasurer and to the barons of exchequer and the chamberlains. Order to pay 926l. 6s. 8d., out of the issues of the custom on wool, hides, and wool-fells in Boston, to Anthony Pessaigne, merchant of Genoa, being 708l. 6s. 8d. for 200 tuns of wine delivered by him to Walter Waldeshef, the king's butler, for the expenses of the king's household, and 18l. for six rayed (radiatis) cloths and 200l. delivered by him to the king's wardrobe for the expenses of the household, as contained in an indenture between him and the said Walter and in a bill of the wardrobe; the payment to begin when the said Anthony have been satisfied for other moneys assigned to him from the said customs. The money is to be charged to the keeper of the wardrobe.

To him who supplies the place of the treasurer, and to the barons of the exchequer. Order to deliver to the said Anthony the second part of the king's seal called 'coket' in the port of Boston, to have until he be satisfied for the moneys assigned to him out of the custom there, as the king considers that he will be able to satisfy himself more quickly if he have the second part of the seal.

To Robert de Wodehous, escheator this side Trent. Order to deliver to Thomas Wak, son and heir of John Wak, tenant in chief of the late king, the manor of Kirkeby Moresheved, which was his father's, the king having restored it to him although he has not yet proved his age.
