To the sheriff of Lincoln. Order to cause proclamation to be made of an article of the statute of Winchester for the punishment of felonies, as felonies are committed daily throughout the realm, and the people of the counties shall be answerable for the robberies done, whether in hundreds or in franchises or in both, and they shall have no more than forty days after the committal of the robbery to make it good and answer for the persons of the malefactors, and to proclaim that all who wish to complain of murders for which they have no peace or remedy because the people of the country, after the hue and cry have been raised, will not do what pertains to them, shall come before the king and his council, and the king will cause them to have a speedy remedy.
