Nov. 15.
Westminster.
To the bailiffs of Great Yarmouth. Order to deliver one part of the coket seal in the port of that town to Robert de Langeton and Thomas de Drayton, now collectors of customs there, and the other part to Hugh Fastolf, controller of the customs there, and to permit wool, hides, wool-fells and other merchandise to cross from that port henceforth without hindrance, although the king lately ordered them to cause the said seal to be taken into his hand and kept under the seals of the collectors of customs there, so that no wool etc. should cross from that port until further order. By C.
The like to the following. to wit:—
The mayor and bailiffs of Sandwich to deliver one part of the coket seal to Nicholas Espeloun and William Ive, collectors, and the other part to William de Grantham, controller of the customs in the port of that town.
The mayor and bailiffs of Cicestre to deliver one part of the coket seal to Alexander Turk and Elias de Meon, collectors, and the other part to John Humery, controller of the customs there.
The mayor and bailiffs of Suthampton to deliver one part of the coket seal to John Aunger and John de Motesfont, collectors, and the other part to William de Wynnesflode, controller of the customs there.
The mayor and bailiffs of Bristol to deliver one part of the coket seal to Walter de Frompton and Richard de Notton, collectors, and the other part to Geoffrey Martyn, controller of the customs there.
The mayor and bailiffs of Newcastle upon Tyne to deliver one part of the coket seal in the ports of that town and of the town of Hertilpole to Robert de Penereth and Robert de Thorneye, collectors, and the other part to Gilbert de Mitteford, controller of the customs there.
The mayor and bailiffs of Kyngeston upon Hull to deliver one part of the coket seal to Walter Box and John de Northburgh, collectors, and the other part to William de la Pole, to whom the king has granted the ancient custom of wool, hides and wool-fells there.
The bailiffs of Boston to deliver one part of the coket seal to William Malewayn and Fretheric de Tilneye, collectors, and the other part to Richard le Rede of Boston, controller of the customs there.
The mayor and bailiffs of Lenne to deliver one part of the coket seal to William de Byteryng and Geoffrey Drewe, collectors, and the other part to John de Silham, controller of the customs there.
The bailiffs of Ipswich to deliver one part of the coket seal to Robert de Langeton and John Geffrey, collectors, and the other part to John Lyen, controller of the customs there.
Richard de Kyselyngbury, late mayor of London, to deliver one part of the coket seal to John Lovekyn and Adam de Bury, collectors, and the other part to Robert de Brome, controller of the customs there.
