Dec. 1.
Westminster.
Nicholas de Loveyn, knight, acknowledges that he owes to William de Edyndon, bishop of Winchester, 240l.; to be levied, in default of payment, of his lands and chattels in Kent.
Cancelled on payment, acknowledged by Thomas de Hungerford, one of the executors of the bishop's will.
William de Holdene acknowledges that he owes to John de Wynewyk, prebendary of Fitelworth in Chichester church, 40 marks; to be levied etc. in Sussex.

Enrolment of indenture made between Sir John de Wynewyk, prebendary of Fitelworth in Chichester church, and William de Holdene testifying that whereas William is bound to John by a recognisance made in chancery on 1 December last, in 40 marks to be paid at the Purification and Whitsuntide next, John grants that if William pay him or to his attorney in John's house without Templebarre, London, 20 marks at the said feasts, then the recognisance shall be null. Dated at London, 2 December, 26 Edward III. French.
Memorandum that John came into chancery at London on 2 December and acknowledged the preceding indenture.
Enrolment of indenture made between John de Wynewyk, prebendary of Fitelworth and William de Holdene, testifying that John, for a certain sum of money in which William is bound to him by a recognisance made in chancery, has sold to William all the issues, fruits and profits arising from the said prebend from Midsummer last until the same feast following, and William will pay the tenth due to the king for the prebend, and will maintain all other charges, ordinary and extraordinary, during the said term, and will maintain the houses, walls and hedges and will save the goods pertaining to the prebend without waste during the term, and will release them at the end of the term in as good a state as they were in at the beginning, without fraud, and because William had the fines pertaining to the prebend entirely in the past year, it is agreed that he will neither take nor claim the fines for the next year. Dated at London, 2 December, 26 Edward III. French.

John de Pembrugge acknowledges that he owes to Queen Philippa 10l.; to be levied, in default of payment, of his lands and chattels in the county of Gloucester.
Enrolment of grant by John de Molyns, knight, lord of Stokepugeys, co. Buckingham, to the king of all his wood called Templewode in the town of Stokepugeys as enclosed with hedges and ditches. Witnesses: Sir Roger de Mortuo Mari, Sir Geoffrey de Say, Sir William de Latymer, Sir Robert de Maule, Sir Peter de Brewes, knights, Philip Durdent, Martin Chaunceux, Nicholas de Ambresden, John Adam. Dated at Wyndesore on Sunday after St. Andrew, 26 Edward III.
Memorandum that John came into chancery at Westminster on 9 December and acknowledged the preceding deed.

Thomas Powys, parson of Chiselden church, acknowledges that he owes to the same Richard 16l.; to be levied, in default of payment, of his lands and chattels and ecclesiastical goods in Wilts.

Matthew fitz Herbert, knight, and Richard de Benham acknowledge that they owe to William de Burton, knight, 100l.; to be levied, in default of payment, of his lands and chattels in the county of Southampton.
Cancelled on payment.
Enrolment of deed testifying that whereas Sir Matthew fitz Herbert and Richard de Benham are bound to Sir William de Burton, knight, in 100l. by the preceding recognisance, to be paid at the Purification next, William grants that if Matthew, at the feast of St. Thomas of Canterbury next, deliver to him, the guardian of the sons and heirs of Reginald fitz Herbert by the king's commission or to his attorney at Nubury, co. Berks, the manor of Chiriton, co. Wilts, together with all the issues and profits thereof after Reginald's death, to hold for the use of the said heirs by virtue of a release which Matthew made to Reginald for Matthew's life, and deliver seisin thereupon, then the recognisance shall be null. Dated at London, 18 December, 26 Edward III. French.

Enrolment of grant by Michael de Ponyngges, knight, to Joan late the wife of William le Baud and to Miles le Frenshe and Joan's heirs of a yearly rent of 20l. to be received of his manors of Wrantham and Bures Tany, co. Suffolk, with power of distraint if the rent be in arrear. Witnesses: Andrew de Bures, Thomas de Grey, Robert Marny, knights, Thomas Boteler, Robert Boteler. Dated at Withirmundeford, co. Essex, on Wednesday the feast of the Decollation of St. John the Baptist, 26 Edward III.
Memorandum that Michael came into chancery at London on 20 October and acknowledged the preceding deed.
Enrolment of indenture testifying that whereas Michael de Ponyngges, knight, granted to Joan late the wife of William le Baud and to Miles le Frenche and Joan's heirs, a yearly rent of 20l. to be received of his manors of Wrantham and Bures Tany, co. Suffolk, as in the preceding deed, Joan and Miles grant that if Michael pay yearly to them at Bures Tany, 100s. at Easter and 100s. at Michaelmas or within fifteen days, then the payment of the said rent shall cease. [Witnesses as above.] Dated at Withirmundeforde on Friday after the Decollation of St. John the Baptist, 26 Edward III.
