Writ of supersedeas, and order by mainprise of William Hesille, John Appelton of Kent, John Everdoun of Norhamptonshire and William Ragenhille of Notynghamshire to set free Alexander Burgeys of Derteforde, if taken at suit of the king and Richard Croubargh for leaving Richard Croubargh's service before the term agreed.

Memorandum of a mainprise under a pain of 100 marks, made in chancery 1 December 4 Henry IV by Richard Cliderowe of Yorkshire, John Wyche of London, John Roger of Middlesex and Edmund Bere of Norffolk for Edmund Barry esquire, that he shall do or procure no hurt or harm to Peter Codoun or to his servants.

To the treasurer and the barons of the exchequer. Writ of supersedeas omnino in respect of any process against William Bonevyle, by the late king appointed with others to make inquisition in Somerset and Dorset concerning great quantity of divers wines, merchandise, goods and chattels to no small value which pertained to that king as wreck and otherwise, and were by divers evildoers dispersed and taken away, by whom and how, but order to proceed against others who did meddle therein; as the said William has made oath in chancery that that commission came not to his hands.

To the sheriff of Hereforde. Order to give notice to John bishop of Hereford to be in chancery in the quinzaine of Easter next in order to shew cause wherefore there ought not to be a stay pending the appeal of William Smethecote of Herefordshire of his diocese, and writ of supersedeas in favour of the appellant by mainprise of Richard Locarde, Thomas Mordeforde, William Kydde and Roger Dun of Salop; as at the request of the bishop, signifying that by his authority as ordinary the said William was excommunicated for contumacy, not willing to be justified by censure of the church, the king ordered the sheriff to justify him by his body until he should content holy church for his contempt and wrongdoing; and now he has appealed to the court of Canterbury, petitioning the king for remedy, and the king has given him the day aforesaid; and Richard Locarde and the others have mainperned in chancery under a pain of 40l. to have him there at that day.

Writ of supersedeas, by mainprise of Robert Andrewe, Nicholas Wotton, Thomas Hay, each of Wiltesir, and John Osbarne of Devon, in favour of William Colbat clerk at suit of the king and John West, for admitting to his service and retaining contrary to the ordinance Alice Hoxherde servant of John West, who left his service at Brokynburgh.
