Feb. 6.
Westminster.
To the treasurer and the barons of the exchequer. Order to allow Robert Claydoun the king's clerk, keeper of the hanaper of chancery, in his account at the exchequer 28l. 8s. 10½d. by him delivered to Henry bishop of Lincoln the chancellor for the winter and summer livery of the clerks of chancery against Christmas and Whitsuntide last, over and above the accustomed sum because of the dearness of cloth, furring and lining, and 4l. paid to Robert Ragenhille clerk keeper of one part of the seal of the Common Bench for his usual fee for the last year, as may appear by letters of acquittance which he has as he avers, any former command of the king to the contrary notwithstanding.

To William Loveneye keeper of the great wardrobe. Order to account with Henry bishop of Lincoln the chancellor or with his ministers concerning the wax to him due by reason of his office from the last day of February last, on which day the king advanced him to be chancellor, delivering to his ministers the arrears thereof.
Jan. 12.
Westminster.
To the escheator in Somerset. Order to remove the king's hand from the manors of Kynwardesdoun and Preston by Yevele, and the issues thereof taken; as it is found by inquisition, of his office taken before John Savage late escheator, that one of the king's forefathers, whose name is to the jurors unknown, gave those manors to the prior (now styled abbot) of Bermundesey and to his successors with the members, pensions and portions thereto pertaining of old time, to find two monks chaplains residing upon the site of the manor of Preston to celebrate every day in the chapel of St. Mary within that manor for the souls of former kings and their heirs and of the faithful departed, and that those services are withdrawn for forty years past and more; and that inquisition being read in chancery, and the matter understood, it seemed to the justices, serjeants at law and others of the council learned in the law that the seizure thereof was of no force, wherefore by their advice it was determined that the king's hands shall be removed.
Feb. 4.
Westminster.
To the sheriff of Norffolk and Suffolk for the time being. Order to pay to John Reymes the king's esquire 20l. a year for life and the arrears since 8 November 4 Henry IV; as the king has granted him for life the office of constable of Norwich castle and keeper of the castle and of the gaol there from the date aforesaid, with the wages, fees and commodities thereto pertaining, taking for life 20l. a year of the issues and profits of the said counties, even as did John Payn late butler of England in his life time for the same office etc., notwithstanding that by grant of the king John Reymes has for life 10l. a year of the issues of the manor of Gemyngham co. Norffolk, 20l. a year of the issues and profits of the petty custom in the port of Great Jernemuth, and three pipes of wine of the king's prise in that port.

To Thomas Erpyngham constable of Dovorre castle and warden of the Cinque Ports, or to his lieutenant there. Order to give up to John de Lylye of Portugal merchant or to his attorney certain coffers and harness of his delivered by his fellows to the keeping of John Fayrhode of Sandewich, and yet in his keeping it is said.
