To the sheriffs of London. Writ of supersedeas, by mainprise of John Stapulton esquire, Philip Pirfelde of London 'grocer,' John Pegest 'marchand' and Thomas Glade 'goldsmyth,' both of London, in favour of Henry fitz Jon at suit of John Swynflete for trespass.

Westminster.
To the sheriff of Kent. Order to give notice to Richard bishop of Rochester to be in chancery in the quinzaine of Easter next in order to shew cause wherefore there ought not to be a stay pending the appeal of Robert Fissher of Chaldewelle of his diocese, writ of supersedeas, and order by mainprise of Thomas Clyfton 'coteler,' Thomas Horner 'horner,' both of London, William Fyssher and Thomas Tebbe, both of Essex, to set the appellant free, if taken; as at the request of the bishop, signifying that by his authority as ordinary Robert Fissher was excommunicated for contumacy, neither would he be justified by censure of the church, the king ordered the sheriff to justify him by his body until he should content holy church for his contempt and wrongdoing; but he has appealed to the court of Canterbury, and the king has given him the day aforesaid; and Thomas Clyfton and the others have mainperned in chancery to have him there that day, and that he shall prosecute his appeal.

Writ of supersedeas in respect of taking of John Goodchilde 'clerke' any security for keeping the peace at suit of John Bally or otherwise of their office, and order by mainprise of John Clapso 'scryvener,' John Snell 'scryvener,' John Slauston 'skynner' and William Aylmer 'draper,' all of London, to set him free if taken.

John Cowelynge the younger, William Botreaux citizen and 'draper' and John Cowelynge citizen and 'habirdasher,' both of London, to Simon Gaunstede clerk. Recognisance for 100l., to be levied etc. in Cornwall.
Condition, that John Cowelynge citizen and 'habirdasher' shall abide and perform the award of William Hesylle, one of the auditors in the exchequer, concerning all receipts for which he is to account to John Blount knight, so that it be made before the quinzaine of Easter next, or else shall appear in person in chancery three weeks after Easter next.
Like recognisance of John Blount knight, to be levied etc. in Derbyshire.
Condition that he shall abide and perform the award of (the said) William Hesylle concerning all plaints and demands against John Cowelynge citizen and 'habirdasher' to be by him declared before the arbitrator, or by one having power from him, so that it be made before the date aforesaid.
Memorandum that John Cowelynge was after taken by the sheriffs of London for certain plaints against him, and by command of the king was brought before him in chancery in presence of the said John Cowelynge the younger, William and John Cowelynge, and was remitted to the sheriffs' custody for that matter under a pain of 2001.
Memorandum that John Blount knight has delivered to Henry Maupas clerk a bond of John Cowlynge citizen and 'haberdasher' of London in 100l., under a condition that it shall be delivered up to John Cowlynge if he shall abide and perform the award aforesaid, so that it be made before the said date, or else shall appear in person in chancery as above mentioned, otherwise he shall deliver it again to John Blount.

Writ of supersedeas in favour of Otho Treuarthian and John Willikoc of Penryn, and order for particular causes laid before the king in chancery, by mainprise of John Herle, Richard Reymonde, Ralph Hulle, all of Devon, and John Trelay of Cornwall, to set them free, if taken to content the king for their ransoms for disseisin of Richard Pennans who arraigned an assize of novel disseisin concerning tenements in Penryn and Tregenay against John Pascowe of Penryn, Joan his wife, John Jolyf of Plymmouth, Philip Restowerek, Joan his wife, the said Otho, Peter Pedyt, John Willikoc, John Rosmaryn, Stephen Morys, Ralph Cusgaran, John Cornysshe and John Seys.
